Reading the posts I have to comment on one thing. Lease costs.
Do you think in your wildest dreams this company could lease a new or slightly used Airbus A320 family of aircraft for what they are leasing a 737-300 for?
The -300's at 75K a month and the -400's at 90K a month are about the cheapest lease rates you will find..
The last time I heard or read anything about lease rates on the Airbus we were paying in excess of 200K a month.
What an All Airbus fleet gets us is simplicity.. One Fleet Type like Southwest and JetBlue.. And not to get anyone worked up but the company should dump the 757 and 767 in favor of the A321 and A330.. Yeah we all know the A321 does not come close to the 757's performance but so what.. One less fleet type..
Can you imagine the savings generated by operating an all Airbus fleet.. Enormous is the correct word..
Looking back in time what US Airways should have done is gone to an ALL 737NG fleet along with the -300/400. For Widebody operations an all 767 fleet with a mix of -200 and -300. No 757's.. Then we would not be having the IAM battle we are having today.. Fleet would be standard and simplified..
But if wishes were fishes we could walk across the sea right?

IF I RUINED DAVE'S ANNOUNCEMENT, I "M sure they are right now cofused and trying there best to put SPIN CONTROL ON THIS LEAK.
BUT THE BOTTOM LINE IS THAT THEIR GONE!!!!! WAKE UP
IF THEY DON'T MAKE THE ANNOUCEMENT TODAY, THEN THAT because they were CAUGHT OFF GUARD, AND ARE TRY TO FIX IT WITH DAMAGE CONTROL.
But reguardless, I"M GLAD I POSTED IT, HELL IT's the least i could do for him AFTER ALL, look what he has DONE TO US. KEEP THE FAITH

Its the least you could do - after your amazing prophesy that the 3d circuit would agree to rehear the IAM's case. LOL!!!
