US Airways ALPA MEC Chairman's Message

Like I said in another note (great idea I read somewhere else)...let the Nicolau award stand for the PHX and LAS bases and DOH stand for east coast bases. If a US east pilot wants to be based in PHX or LAS their senority would be determined by the Nicolau award. If an AWA pilot wants to be based back east it would be based on their DOH. This would be fair and I believe ALPA would be legally covered on this ruling.

  Why yes, I do indeed point, on occasion. Although, it seems quite an odd question; enjoy that new knowledge about moi! As I'd mentioned in a previous response to you: thank you again for all of your attention and adoration, as all of my other fans have a much higher intellect and far superior wit. It is also quite nice to have your caliber show interest. Thanks ever so much for playing, you may now switch to your other persona!

As usual you attack the messenger. You never have anything that resembles intelligence in your posts.

You focus on sp mistakes and not the real issue. Your personal attacks are also indicative of a person who is having trouble navigating the real world so you come on these boards to convince yourself you matter.

By the way I do not take any medication to alter my thoughts and calm down. You should check to make sure the dosage is correct on whatever form of Prozac you are taking.

Blah-blah-blah
   Once again, I greatly appreciate and thank you for your multi-faceted, albeit gravely flawed and completely inaccurate, critical assessment. Organic Foodies/Holistic practitioners rarely, if ever, need or want for mind altering medications. Exercise, a proper diet, in concert with appropriate rest is all that has been required for a highly intellectually rewarding, healthy, happy and stable life. Your obsessive concern regarding my well-being is completely unwarranted, but thank you, sincerely.

As always, I should mention my awareness of your continued, obvious to all, adoration. Please refer to this should you have any doubt as to where you might rank and/or register on the radar screen of my life.

Unfortunately, my responses to you require that I stray off-off topic, therefore I believe I must, sadly, place you on ignore. I do hope that you will be able to deal with, what must be extremely disappointing news, both maturely and responsibly. Continued good wishes to all of your various personas.

I had the same idea.
Operationally you aren't going to see a big migration either way (east/west). So in reality it won't make much difference.

a320av8r,
Maybe I read if from you. In any case, it makes sense. Notice the silence on this issue. Could it be that ALPA MEC is going to go this route...stay tuned!

Eye,

I think your idea is a good option, but again, it would require a consensual agreement. Bottom line: I believe if the West pilots refuse to discuss an alternative to the Nicolau Award then the two pilot groups will very likely remain separate for a long time.

No silence its just not that great an idea and you should have brought it up a year ago. Now what happens if no growth take place in PHX or LAS or if a base closes?? No DOH period its no longer in the merger policy so let it go. ALPA national doesn't have a say and if they attempt to, well you already know the answer to that as you have been told time and time again.

I doubt it. You see Doug will only allow this to go so far before it wrecks his plans. I can assure you that you will not like the company move at all. There is absolutly no barrier from keeping the company from opening another base in the east and staffing it with west crews!!!

You easties had better get your act in order and quick as the writing is already on the wall with the final letters hitting the furloughs!! There will be new hires to compliment the overage of reserves we already have. The new hires could care less about this unnecessary fight between us and with no strike no scab warning to worry about.

Play time is over boys and girls and your options have run out. Huge DFR on one end and company shuffle on the other. Where do you go?? I have it on good authority that the DFR really won't be necessary so go ahead and make our day ;)

AWA320,

Nobody cares about your DFR threat. The AWA pilots cannot fund their Merger Committee never mind a lawsuit against ALPA International who has deeper pockets. That lawsuit will drag on for years and years and in the meantime a large portion of the East pilots will retire.

In my opinion, the East pilots have more leverage than the West pilots and the majority of the East pilots are willing to live under LOA 93 and to remain separate than accept a seniority integration award they believe violates ALPA Merger Policy. Why? Economics.

Therefore, let's stop all of the bantering and just remain separate pilot groups. Then the East can begin the decertification process, the company can not integrate and will not see the integration cost/revenue benefits, the East pilots will maintain their DOH, the West pilots will maintain their DOH, all widebody flying, all EMB-190 growth, and most of the attrition based career expectation.

Furthermore, each pilot maintains their pre-merger career expectation and there will be no joint contract.

Here is the bottom line: Either the West MEC changes its position and complies with the EC's resolution or there will be no joint contract, no seniority integration, and the East pilot grass roots movement to decertify ALPA will likely gain momentum.

It's the AWA pilot’s option on how this proceeds.

YES YOU CAN HAVE YOUR PRE MERGER EXPECTATIONS--- unemployed---

The merger assesment passed, I guess we have more money to wast dealing with our sisters in the east!

Wow, I'm sure glad all of the East pilots appointed YOU as their spokesman on this issue. Funny though, in all of my jumpseating in the past few months, NONE of the East pilots I have flown with seemed to share your viewpoint.

In fact, most have the opposite view, and spoke only of how horrible LOA 93 was, and how it was killing them slowly but surely to work under those conditions. One CLT crew I jumpseated with was, in fact, beyond scared that the West would begin our own Section 6 and they would be stuck at the current LOA93 pay rates.

Perhaps you live in a different reality than the common East line pilot.

N905TW,
I am hearing what USA320Pilot is hearing. I may not agree with him on most things, but he's not fabricating what he's hearing. I've never seen the pilots so mad and unified. They simply are not going to allow this senority list on their turf. I guess everyone will see soon.
