Mraeroman,

Funny the company and the union met 10 days ago to further discuss the cost saving ideas and go over the dollar amount.

So please show me where the IAM or the company since that meeting have said anything to support your statements.

700, Don't "run away" seeing me respond to you!!! :D I do have a questinion for you?? So, we talked 10 days ago about "cost saving" ideas!! What the hell is that going to do at this point??? We HAVE been discussing this issue for some time, and EVERYTIME, U blows the IAM off!! It's a non-issue IMHO. U does NOT want to negotiate!!! They are going through the motions to try to make themselves look good. They ARE prepared, and WILL file a 1113 motion for wage reductions. Seems they feel they have a better chance with the judge. Matters not to me, but for those of you remaining, you would be well advised to follow the same course!! STAND FAST!!! GOOD DAY!!!!

The issue was discussed four times since May, twice in the past month, the company called the last meeting about the dollar amounts and to go over the ideas.

And didn't you learn from scot's warning?

If you want to ask a question or debate that is fine, but I see you are using your usual tactics of insults again.

And I was at work all day so I did not run away from you.

Guess you don't learn.

NFS,

Don't be afraid and quit wetting your pants.
The IAM will not give up your dues dollars and will rollover in the not too distant future.

'RESPECTFULLY',

N6,

Do you really, really, really think that it would have been any different for the IAM...if they would have capitulated?

Oh, yea, than the BK judge could say..."gee, wonder why the mechanics had this same problem??? Duh?
[post="182513"][/post]

No, but IMHO they would have been in a better position in front of a judge. At least ALPA, AFA, CWA, and TWU can say "we talked with the company, but the company's cost target kept moving". Will it work for the other unions? I don't know, but I find it hard to believe a union that goes in front of the judge pounding their chests about how the "concession stand is closed" is going to find a lot of sympathy. The IAM was, and still is, caught between a rock and a hard place. They must maintain a hardline with the company on negotiations to keep AMFA at bay, and at the same time make sure there is still a company to keep a large portion of it's remaining aircraft mechanic membership employed.

On the IAM cost savings, yes the company failed to implement any of the cost savings suggestions (at least as of yet). Was it truly the amount the IAM claims it is? Probably not, but probably not what the company thinks it may amount to either. The truth, as usual, is probably somewhere in the middle. Regardless, I think it will not help with the judge. I admit that hindsight is 20/20, but if the IAM would have sat down with the company and asked to see what they wanted, and at least made a counteroffer (regardless of what it was), they would probably have a better chance when the 1113 hearing comes.

There has been no communications from either the IAM or the company since that meeting so your request is bogus.
The numbers the IAM quotes as dollar figures are bogus and has been addressed already. I have even spoken to several mechanics in CLT that have admitted as much although reluctantly.

The unions stand no chance vs the judge...and it is really sad that they can't see that. There are 2 major reasons:
1. The ATSB/GE/BOA, and other major creditors will pull the money without the figures the company says it needs. (ie, it is critical for the company to go forward.

2. There is already precedence within the industry. They are not asking for anything that is not already in place at another major airline. (ie, judge will see it as fair and equitable because of Amer West and Jet Blue)

I agree in so far as the statement that the unions have no (or little) chance in court. However, it must be said that this is true whether the union has an agreement with the company or not.

I see nothing that has changed about the company's behavior where they have time and time again said "We need a dollar." Then when the union gives them the dollar, they say, "No wait. I meant $2.00. yeah, that's the ticket. $2.00 is what will save your jobs. Or, wait, maybe it's $3.00. I tell you what. I need new carpet in my office at HQ, just give me everything, and while you're at it, that bologna sandwich in your lunch pail looks tasty." :p

#1, I heeded Scot's warning, I asked you a Q U E S T I O N, 700. What are you talking about, an insult?? You need to relax!!

With that said......7 0 0 , The initial point remains. You say "the issue was discussed four times since May", and, basically talking about dollar amounts, and going over "ideas", Blah, blah, blah. Do you really think in all honesty, that the company could give a Da#*M about cost saving ideas at this point? ESPECIALLY from the IAM?? They want wage relief, pension relief, work rule changes, elimination of utility, elimination of stock clerks, a HUGE reduction in the # of mechanics, outsourcing maintenance, possibility of reducing fleet size, resulting in more layoffs of pilots, f/a's, CS, res, higher medical premiums, on, and on!!! Sticking to what the IAM has done so far is disingenuous, at best!! Just my humble opinion, but i'm sure somewhere in my post, you will see something, that in YOUR mind, says,"insult", "attack". GOOD DAY!!!!!

Speed: I already stated and I will again that 700 is just a mouth piece for the IAM with only half of his heart in it, a year or so ago he hated what the IAM stood for, but now that he is "IN" he suddenly cares. So read his posts with a gain of salt thrown in.

Boy am I glad, HE KNOWS

I understand, totally, Cav!!! Just can't seem to understand why many posters' here just don't get it!! This ship is sunk, and people better "find the cheese"!!!! LOL(Its a book I just read), I digress!! He is working to get on the payroll of the International, and thats sad!! So much more out there in life to be a productive member of society!! This management team has decimated this airline to the point that NO union is going to save it!! But, I guess some people "feel" better pounding their chest, and THEY think they are important!!! Having no self esteem must be a lonely feeling, indeed!!( oops, am I "attacking" again?) LMFAO!!!!! GOOD DAY!!!!!

Cavalier,

That is an out right LIE, have always been a IAM supporter, I have held various officer positions in my local. I have never ever said I hated the IAM. You are full of it.

You can ask anyone who knows me I have been very active in the IAM for the past 13 years at my station.

I have been to many conferences and training with the IAM.

You could not be any further from the truth.

You are really grasping in your desperation these days.

Just remember I know all about you.

SAME STORY, DIFFERENT DAY.
Thanks guys for getting my day off on the usual footing.
