UA + CO

The LAST(and perhaps ONLY)Time AA "got left out in the cold", was oddly enough when "uncle Bobby" BLINKED at the Poker Table, involving UA and PAA(Asian routes, approx. 1985)(It was RLC's ONLY blunder)(Undoubtedly NEVER to happen again) !!

Ask yourselves this;
"What are the 2 (white) HOTTEST routes in world wide aviation ??

LHR/USA ("We/AA's got that covered VERY nicely Thank you")
And

USA/CHINA..CHINA..CHINA..CHINA.

"I rest my case" !!

"AA/NW anyone" ??????????

NH/BB's

I thought that didn't apply if CO was the purchaser...
You are correct. CO is free to purchase anyone they want. Take COPA, they owned a majority of that airline until recently, when they sold a portion of the stock. NW was not a party to that transaction.

That said, I have heard from numerous people at CAL that the management there wants to grow internally. We all know though that when the dam breaks, everyone will be trying to get in the life rafts.

Yup, I think they're right, management also wants oil back into the mid 20's..

..or at least that's what they always say.

Very cryptic... You just better be here to explain why it doesn't materialize. And don't try to grab any item of interest and spin it into your previous prediction...

Seen this tactic too many times, and way tired of it.

Good-luck to all.. :)

AMR/nwac
CAL/ual
LUV/dal
LCC/fragments

My predictions are similar, but not identical:

AMR/nwac
UAL/dal
CAL/Nobody
LUV/Nobody - rapid internal growth is enough
LCC/Third Ch 11 by end of year
JBLU/More Downsizing ahead

AMR/nwac
CAL/ual
LUV/dal
LCC/fragments

Either AMR moves on nwac then CAL goes after UAL or CAL goes after ual and then AMR moves on nwac, not so sure about LUV/dal, but I know LUV won't allow AAI to run away with them. Also, I strongly believe Fragments of some of those that are takeover targets will get fragmented to LCC, those with AirBuses...

Good-luck to all.. :)

Unfortunately for you and your grand scenario, by posting a smaller loss than UAL, CAL is in no position to buy or make a "move" on anyone. UAL is much more positioned financially and from corporate governance to accomplish a playing role in consolidation. Just like 50 seat RJ's, the consolidation train will not play out as many have predicted.

Since you are so in to science fiction, did they find any bodies with the craft at Roswell?

USA320's role on this board is already taken, find another hobby.

The money ....:)

LUV and LCC fights for ALK (Alaska). LUV might also pick up AAI while they're at it... ;)

UAL goes for JBLU. (Large East Coast system). AMR might be a spoiler?!

DAL and NWA...AMR and CAL bids for NWA Pacfic routes...DAL, don't know...Maybe buy AAI???...Or could get an agreement to let AAI provide feed at some of their hubs...

Let the bidding begin. :)

Well,

.... :)

The money ....:)

So you are inferring that you have inside knowldege of the investment banking strategies with respect to upcoming airline consolidation.

And you think because Gordon wrote a book that CAL (a money losing airline that has continuously warned regarding it's 2006 results) is a winning employee culture and will be a survivor?

Both are ludicrous...

Good Luck to you, you appear to need it much more than the rest of us....
