Pray that the election gets thrown out. If the Mechanics and Related have an election the TWU is dead meat.

No longer do the rank and file believe what the TWU spews. AMFA is a shoe in. The TWU can only pray the election gets thrown out.

Satire of course!

-----------------------------------

Many of the Amfa wannabes have expressed, they will not pursue another drive! They believe The majority have spoken this time around and believe it's time to support the TWU!

After all, At the rate Amfa is losing head count. I would not be surprised the TWU represents more Mechanic and Related than Amfa! They already represent far more in the Industry!

If the election gets thrown out through tricks and slight of hand planned and perpetrated by the company and its puppet union then...
The Majority has not spoken

The whole process will begin again.

If you really cared about the membership you would not support tricking the membership out of the vote. You are anti-democratic and support the very things I took an oath to defend our country against. You are nothing more than a paid mouth piece for a socialist organization that is afraid of loosing its position with the company. We finance, through union dues, the TWU's agenda to spread its socialist message to the masses.

Do you really think the membership will go along with being screwed out of the vote? The TWU will be weaker than ever. By having the vote thrown out the TWU will find itself in AMFA hell. Nothing the TWU indorses will carry. There will be resistance to every move the TWU makes-not just on the line but at the maintenance bases. A perpetual AMFA card drive will follow. This membership will never be united until it has an election for representation.

Americans will not be imtimidated by Socialist thugs! We will have a vote!

I'm painfully aware that it is 2004 and yet we still have to deal with outdated concepts like industrial unionism.

There is nothing wrong with the concept of Industrial Unionism.

Industrial unionism enabled the population that was displaced through the upheavals of the Industrial Revolution to attain dignity and a decent standard of living. For the unskilled, Industrial Unionism (as oposed to craft unions which have their origins in the old craft guilds, many of which were exterminated through mechinazation) can be just as effective as it ever was. And it was effective.

The problem is that as the Institutions aged they became Business Unions. They forsake the revolutionay flavor Industrial Unionism for the bottom line goals of business unionism. Workers are no longer really the core of these Institutions, they are the commodity.

Unions like the TWU started off great. As time went by, they became the victims of their own success. Leaders like Sonny Hall prefer to socialize and abode with the management class, not with the workers. His salary and benifits, and his justification, mirrors that of executives, not the common worker. If you were to go to his office on Broadway, you would think that you were entering the offices of a successful corporation, not a "not for profit" labor organization.

What once were fierce, committed advocates for the elevation of the working class have been reduced to slogan chanting brokers with no leadership capabilities. They, like all failed leaders, turn around and cast blame upon those they are suposed to lead.

When we go to AMFA, an organization that still retains the youthful energy and aspirations that fuel hope and can inspire members, we should learn from the failure of the structure we have left behind and insure that we never make the same mistakes there.

And how long has amfa been in existance Bob??? How many members have they lost in the past couple of years Bob?? What are they doing to "protect the profession" Bob?? You guys get on here and preach about how wonderful amfa is and how we have to replace the TWU with amfa but you have given NO solid proof, EVER that amfa will be the better union. Your main sell is "we can vote out our leaders". That's it!! Their contract language is very poor, their outsourcing is out the roof and layoffs out-number the TWU's by thousands, with more unfortunate layoffs in the very near future for amfa represented carriers it appears. Why is that??? You preach and preach and preach but your sermon has no content, no message. The subject comes up once and a while about how the amfa carriers have no other card drives going on and that they are happy with amfa. Of course they are. . .they have a job!! But my goodness, look at all of those who don't, who were represented by amfa. Delle thinks BK is a better option then concessions. . .which is absolutley assinine. More of his members get hurt under BK, we have seen that!! But who cares right, as long as some of us are still here? You guys make me sick with all of your better than thou attitudes. Amfa gives empty promises and then cannot deliver. That, there is proof of!!

Hey Bob, why don't you in all of your great wisdom, give us a scenario if you will, a hypothetical situation, and tell us what you think will happen at AA if amfa ever gets in. What will they accomplish, how will they protect the profession? How will they unite the members? What will they do for me?? And remember. . .we already know that we can vote out Delle. Give us some inspiration Bob. Oh, and you may take past amfa accomplishments into consideration but you must take into account their failures as well. Why afma at AA?? This should just be about amfa (not the TWU) . . . sell me (and whomever else may be listening)!!!

Any bets on whether he'll do it??????

Anyone else can submit a story as well.
This should be good. . . :D

twuer,

AMFA protects our craft and profession by listening to the membership. Let's see, explain for everyone here where the AMTs at AA said no to concessions. (Well skip the FULL REVOTE issue since you have trouble defending jimmy's reversal.) But the twu went ahead and GAVE AA what they wanted. Now at NWA the company is asking for concessions and AMFA members say, "Show us your books." Well, now. AMFA has a contract till 2005 and they say that is when they will open negotiations.

twuer, show me where the twu has protected our profession. How many members has the twu lost? How many ramp jobs were created/saved by the twu letting them do AMT jobs?

The twu smells fear... and it is their own!

GO AMFA!

Since when do you answer a single question on this board?

Why don't you hold yourself to the same standard you wish to hold Ken too?

Simply show us PROOF that the TWU saved 12,000 jobs with these concessions.

I answer questions all the time here Decision. As a matter of fact I just got finished anwering a question for aircraft_artificer (I think that's his name). The problem is that when we do answer your questions you don't want to hear what we have to say. The truth hurts!!!

As for this statement. . .
Simply show us PROOF that the TWU saved 12,000 jobs with these concessions.

I guess the proof is in the list!! And the number is what. . .18,698?????

Why don't you tell us how amfa LOST almost half of their members at NWA!!! Then continue with the members at UAL!!!

And for you Raptor, I haven't received an answer to these so how can I not like the answers!!

HOW WILL AMFA PROTECT THE PROFESSION?????

It's not that hard of a question. I don't know why more haven't answered. All I get back is more questions.
