AAPITBULL, Thanks for the info. I see Pat Kinnamon  beat out "company man" Hammack  . At least one true unionist got voted in. The other names I'm not too familar with, except for TWU worshipper CIO's  wife Mary Gorremans. Oh well, you can't win them all.

The election does not pass the smell test. The ballots were picked up at the post office and then left overnight at the union hall for several nights. There were a lot of people coming and going after hours.

I believe it is more than a coincidence that the very same e-board members got reelected at a time when the membership was so thirsty for change.

We need a neutral third party counting ballots and counting them from the moment the're picked up at the p.o. until the results are known. That way observers can insure there is no hanky panky by being able to monitor the whole process from begining to end. None of the leaving ballots overnight at the hall b.s.

Another thing I'm not happy about is the fact that our new President was voted in with less than 1,000 votes when well over 3,000 people voted. There needs to be a run-off in order to insure the new President represents the majority of the voting workers.

I'm pretty disgusted right now and agency fee looks very attractive once again. Until I decide I believe I'll wear my AMFA shirt somemore just to piss off the incumbents.

If observers were not allowed at all stages of the process, from the post office to the final tally, the election is illegal. Check the constitution, by laws, and the Landrum Griffith Act.

I think the neutral third party should handle the entire process, including mailing of the ballots and handling replacement and/or undelivered ballots.

After reading the AUD information on how to obtain fair elections, the counting process is not the only way to rig the election.

I have decided to give Pat and Steve my full support until they prove unworthy of it. I believe both are sincere about attempting to improve the TWU 514.

Yeah, like two good men are going change what thousands cannot.

I guess some things discussed and proven with TWU Documentation during the AMFA drive have been long forgotten.

I agree they may be sincere but the institution will never be changed by two. In fact the TWU will never be changed period!

Never say never. The union is the members. Perhaps since they were elected the members will support them. Next time there will be more than two. Accountability is the key. Perhaps these two will keep the other elected people accountable.

One step would be to allow fellow AMTs to view the Local 514 web site. Local 564's site doesn't need a password why does the 514? Openness is the ally of accountability.

Good luck to those with sincerity who won.
