TWU and the Company reached a Tentative Agreement

today's "Daily Dispatch Company News"

AA SYSTEM NEWS___________________
American Airlines, mechanics forge tentative contract – Negotiators for bankrupt American Airlines and its mechan-ics and stock clerks reached a tentative six-year contract agreement late Tuesday that provides 15 percent wage in-creases over six years, improved health insurance and other benefits. The tentative agreement, which must be ratified in a vote by 11,000 mechanics and stock clerks during the next month, also includes a 3 percent day-of-signing bonus for the mechanics and a 3.5 percent day-of-signing bonus for the stock clerks. "There were enough improvements that we thought it was necessary to bring it back to the membership for a vote," said John Hewitt, chairman of maintenance at Transport Workers Union Local 514 in Tulsa. Neither the company nor the TWU could provide further details on the tentative agreement …

Is this a 3% signing BONUS or a 3% Raise?
Company News says Bonus
TWU News says Raise

Hmmmm, confusion again?

Line Station Presidents with integrity and a spine
voted No to bring this back. Those who voted yes
wish to grovel on their knees and attempt to further
ruin our craft.

This t/a will fail just like the last one failed.

Vote No!
Vote AMFA!
Ken, how are you getting along with the ARSA and Sarah MacLeod? You talk about integrity and spine but why are you in bed with an organization who wants all maintenance work outsourced? I know the Wall of Honor is a good thing but really, taking money and an endorsement from a group that is against drug testing and security background checks for foreign MROs and wants the ban on 145 certificates lifted so more low wage foreign MROs can take our work? Where is your integrity? Give the money back and tell the ARSA to shove it.

Do some fact checking before popping off Mighty Mouse.

If you have not signed an AMFA card and you are angry about this sellout by your union, then you have nobody to blame but yourself. TWU has sold the AMTs out time and time again. Did you know that the other groups still got their longevity pay while we lost ours in 2003? Did you realize that the other groups got paid 100% sick pay while we got 50%? The people that brought this on are also telling you there is "Me Too" language in the contract that is worthless! I am not trying to belittle the other groups, but I think that if a guy that throws a bag and a guy that drives a forklift get longevity and 100% sick time, then that should be a gimme for the AMTs. If your union can't or won't get that for you then it is time for them to go. Think!!!! Could you be any worse off with AMFA? I think not.

Whoa !! Line station president's called for the roll call vote. Apparently all the line stations aren't on board with a NO vote. !!

Count the numbers. Whether it was a roll call vote or a simple majority vote (9 Yes - 7 No) it passed. The NO's lost, what don't you understand about that? Quit whining, you're starting to sound like a bunch of teenagers.

If the dozen or two AMFA guys, or the AMP & Vote NO Crowd (AMFA in drag) stopped posting on this site, what would we have to talk about, not much, although it is entertaining.

Reality chump don't be so predictable. How is this vote representative of the A&P mechanics at AA. Local 514 has a baggage handler and an OSM representing all of Tulsa - yeah they had all of our best interests in mind.

Several of those Presidents are from Line stations the only base stations are Tulsa, AFW & DFW everything else is technically a line station regardless of what title the President of the Local is from. B)
This can't be blamed just on Tulsa is what I mean, STL & SFO are line stations & they called for the roll call vote.

Now that Tulsa has seen the full changes many are wavering so if you want it to fail ALL the Line stations will have to Overwhelmingly vote NO with a high turn out.
