TWU and Teamsters are mirror images of each other.

Actually I was comparing Southwest and UPS. Granted, two completely different companys with two different unions representing their mechanics, line mechanics. The jist of what I'm trying to convey is that IMO those other two unions are not any better than what we have in the TWU. Is their room for improvement within the TWU? Sure there is. I don't believe in change just for the sake of change. I prefer to put more effort into fixing what we have.... And I don't mean by becoming a leader in the TWU and then trying to tear it down from within... Kinda shitty don't ya think?

Maybe you should get a copy of the TWU Constitutional Covention minutes from 1989, 1993, 1997,2001, 2005 and 2009, read them over and get back with us on a plan to "Fix the TWU".

If there were a way to "fix" the TWU, it would have been done already.

These AMFA drives didn't just begin in May, this has been going on for years. And those minutes will prove to you why they continue to happen.

Be specific for instance, what in your view should "be fixed" within the TWU?

From what I understand the Southwest mechanics run their own locals without much input from the national and they like it that way.

What about the mechanics at UPS? They are some of the highest paid. Someone tell me who represents them.....

Are you saying that Southwest's AMFA local is run different than all the other AMFA locals?

It would be nice for the leadership to be a little more forthcoming with information (like the breakdown of this last vote), and to be more decisIve when it comes to these matters. No need to beat around the bush. That being said, I think the TWU has done as well as to be expected considering the circumstances. I don't think any other union could have done any better.

That is all rather cute, but the FACT remains, amfa has given up almost 20 THOUSAND members, while the Teamsters have gained that and more. Why do you think that is??

Say what you want, under amfa, I LOST money and benefits. They promised the moon and I received dirt.

Just ONE Teamster contract reversed all the damage dome by amfa and more. Our second might even take us to where we should rightfully be financially. If not, I am making much more money than amfa ever promised in many of their empty campaigns.

How many times have you PERSONALLY voted me down? It only tells me that I threaten your rhetorical BS. I am good with getting the truth out about your silly little amfa circus. Vote me down all you want. The facts are still on my side.

Amalama,

You have been voted down at least 288 times. Are you suggesting that I am a large percentage of that?
You are not accomplishing anything here except to gain negative slams on your posts.

And you evidently think they are compliments !!!!

There isn't anything different between the twu and the teamsters except there are a different bunch of crooks taking the union members money. (and not giving anything in return)

Yes there is a difference.

2x your dues vs 2.5x

$666 TWU
$999 IBT

IBT we will be the .013% in a union of 1.4 million members. Yes that is a decimal point in front of the ZERO. Here it is again in case you missed it the first time.

OK, you got me. The teamsters are bigger crooks than the twu.

Thank You for the simple math that aynone should be able to grasp.

And the other part they don't seem to grasp is that to have the "powerful strike fund" they keep harping the Teamster will have, it must come from the "Local" level and must be funded by an additional levy or fee above and beyond the dues base. There is no magical strike fund that comes from the National Level.

Strake,

You have failed to answer or repond to nearly 80% of all questions asked of you.... Why is that?

Perhaps he studied slithering from anomaly!

Imagine that, you guys don't like my answers.....

As if I really care.

Imagine the carnage if the AMFA had been in charge during AA's BK. Don't forget what happened at NWA.

Anyone care to comment on why the AMFA was voted out at UA (other than the AMFA sucks)?

Nicely done snakster,

Don't like to give straight answers, do you?

Who trained you, the teamsters, or the twu?
Tell ya what, ask a Southwest mechanic who negotiated their contract. The local or the national. He will tell you the local.

Why have the national?
