Two More (Apparently Successful) Milestones This Past Weekend

Good to hear all the positive news from the AA camp.  Hope it all continues for you guys so everyone can prosper in the future.
Guys, just ignore WT's postings.  No matter how good the news is for youe company he will in fact come in and try to destroy all good news with his negativity postings and direct slams on ALL the other airlines besides Delta.  It makes for a much better read and forum just by simply passing over all his postings.

..because talking about what you want to hear is better if you aren't confronted with actual facts?

I said nothing negative about AA.

I simply noted that AA's block time has increased by about 5% on average for mainline domestic flights.

if you or others can't read factual statements like that, you probably should be discussing business issues on a closed internet chat forum.

AA's rebanking effort will increase costs but they have apparently decided it is worth it. I can accept that AA did the analysis and said they have done a good job so far from an operational perspective -which is the only thing we can see at this point.

given that US has banked hubs and also has higher OT performance than AA, there are clearly some differences in the way US schedules that have been brought to the new airline's schedules.

It remains to be seen how the finances will all work out.

Bob,
if you had access to a schedule analysis program, you could pull AA's schedules for every flight to/from DFW for March and then again for April. Since the cutover to banked schedules took place on the last weekend of March, it is probably fair enough to use March vs. April's schedules.

btw, for ORD, the average block time went from 121 minutes per outbound AA/AE domestic ORD flight in March 2015 to 128 minutes in April 2015

if you would like more data, PM me and I will get you as much of the information as possible.

why don't you just post the data you allegedly have so that all of us on here can see and dissect for ourselves???  I find it hard to believe that someone whose been gone for almost a decade would have access to any airline schedule analysis program

I posted the summary. this board doesn't have the capability to post data the size of what is involved in files of the size of the DFW and ORD hubs.

The facts that I did provide are more than sufficient to prove the point. If you or others don't believe the summary data, it's not likely you will accept the data in a more expanded format.

there is no link, Kev.

the only public information is AA's schedules today.

anything beyond that requires industry knowledge and data.

Since you don't have access to the data or the knowledge to figure out the truth on your own, the choice is either to remain ignorant or accept someone's word who does know.

Given that you are trolling the site looking for an opportunity for revenge for the fact that my predictions about the FA representation failing have indeed come true, it isn't a surprise that you would rather argue than accept the word of someone who actually knows.

Whether you accept it or not doesn't change that AA added a lot of block time to their schedules with the banking of their schedules.

given that AA's on-time performance was well below industry average and lower than US' for years, the banking effort likely provided an opportunity to fix AA's schedules in addition to banking. It's a shame that it took a takeover by a Phoenix based discount carrier for AA to decide to fly reliable schedules.

Oh please.

I actually wanted to check it out. I really enjoy that sort of thing.

Apparently ipse dixits are now all one needs when making a point in a "strategic business discussion?" Good to know...

again, you've had enough information to know what happened. you just don't choose to believe what you have been given. it's not a gee whiz kind of thing.

the offer is the same for you as it is for others.... send a PM with an email address and I'll send you the file.

I'm not holding my breath.

You'd rather look for an opportunity to smear someone else than actually take advantage of the opportunity to learn from someone.

wrong again.

it's just above your grade level which is somewhere around pre-K, right?

one could only come to that conclusion given your need to try to blame everyone else for what has gone wrong.

specific to the topic, when can the public expect AA's baggage handling and consumer complaint rations to improve to industry average levels? is that part of the merger process?

since US' DOT consumer complaint and baggage mishandling ratios are both worse than industry average - even if they are better than standalone AA - operating a more on-time schedule hasn't clearly translated to above average customer service metrics for US.
