Tulsa

The company will outsource whatever they want. The 40% is a feel good number so the amt's don't rebel. ORD MD told us that 46 amt's gone immediately, and 24 additional if one B-check is farmed out to AAR in Indy. Those numbers were confirmed by our nightshift manager two nights ago.

The union has been in hiding since the BK filing. Totally pathetic!!! You TWU lovers keep up the good work of spreading rumors and keeping everybody on edge.....it will only embolden members to sign that green card to toss the TWU out on the street. It's all part of the game plan with AA to scare and prepare everyone for the worst beating in labor history. The TWU is famous for that. They are one labor group that is absolutely HATED by everyone in the industry, except Tulsa!! and, it continues today.....what is it going to take for you in Tulsa to realize the TWU is really the Toilet Workers Union.....because they protect the people that clean toilets, mop floors and toss garbage more than amt's. Wake Up!!

You might be surprised at the number of A&P's and many other Title I employees would be happy if the TWU was gone, many on the political affliction alone.

I'm not surprised Buck! Twice Tulsa shotdown the attempt to toss them out. I mean, is it really that hard to convince the members???? WE have people on this forum that have absolutely no skin in the game that realize how bad the TWU represents the amt's......and yet, our own people that continuously are getting hosed aren't convinced enough to change representation. What's it gonna take, brother??????

I am surprised at your lack faith.

What's it going to take?

A restructuring of the TWU and especially Title I.

I have been out of the loop as far as representation rules, how long does one laid off allowed to participate in a representational election?

Buck, it should be pretty obvious why the TWU wants to fight like hell to keep jobs at the "majority" base. I'm totally against people losing their jobs because it affects real families and children. But, as far as getting rid of the TWU, once the Line becomes the majority.....the TWU is GONE!!!!!!, and that's why they will "fight like hell" to keep jobs in Tulsa. They know it, and WE know it.

KP has taken lead in most of the rumors that have come back as BS. It is more of these guys doing the internationals work of stiring up BS to worry us into accepting a worse deal than the bad deal that we are going to get. My opinion is that they are having a hard time with having to go back to work soon, and are fighting for an international do nothing job by pushing the BS. ;)

Do any of the DFW guys know if Gordon Clark has shown up for work yet. And if he doesnt make the cut if the rif, does he still get paid by the company in the international job?

Gordon would be over at DWH if he was working anywhere; as it turns out, he hasn't been there yet. Safe to say he assumed some sort of "token role" at the international level. As if there were any other kinda role at the international level. Yet another example of cronyism at the international level. Sign an AMP card.

BTW, why hasn't the twu put as much effort in saving jobs at AFW, as Tulsa??? That's right, AFW was on the bandwagon of booting the TWU out.

The TWU is on life support, and they will do whatever it takes to keep the majority in Tulsa. They will surrender any stations that oppose the TWU. AFW is just the start. Line stations next???? We'll see??? Are they in cahoots with AA??? for sure!!

Someone is getting it. Now if only the rest of the AMT's could see it.

So the company is still paying Gordon to stay home, but yet we need to lay off mechanics. I would expect that his deal goes away before any mechanic hits the street.

If you don't mind, give us some more details. Who was the officier or officiers saying this? If we don't know names it is just more rumor and somebody doing the int's work. What else did they say? Anything about eagle or cutting flights etc? I'm not taking a shot at you, just try to clear the air.
Rick Grant said it and no details really. Just that AFW was for sure closing and ORD maintenance is being contracted out. To what extent wasn't mentioned about either location.

There was talk about contracting out a "B" Check to AAR wasn't there? I am sure the rumor mill blew that out of proportion to contracting out the entire station.

It would be pretty hard for Eagle to take over ORD or any other station. Even the company is only proposing 88 seaters for Eagle. The Airbus wil never show up there.

If you are worried about somebody taking your flying take a look at what JetBlue has been doing lately.

When AA starts outsourcing and downsizing TUL, the line stations will finally have the majority. How long before a new union drive will start? I'm in favor of whoever negotiated the SWA and UAL contract, I believe that union is the IBT, even though AMFA represents SWA now. 25 years with the TWU can all be summed up to "if you don't like it, move to Tulsa". If I were the TWU I would be trying to figure out how I'm going to get $40 an hour for my line mechs.

I think that the city of Tulsa, the government of Oklahoma, and the TWU will do everything they can to keep the jobs in Tulsa.

As we all know, this is all about money. If AA can get enough money, they will keep the jobs Tulsa. Perhaps parts of the TULE base will be leased out to MRO companies who will do some of the work that AA mechanics used to perform.

All of this makes me sick at heart, but I can't fix it!
