Their visas were rescinded because DHS found reason to, and that could have been almost anything.
Someone wanna' run a count on how many muslims did fly into tje US that day, or this week, or even on that flight?
There are a lot of differences between barring "a" or "some" individual muslims, and "banning muslims."

Just FYI: governments of areas embroiled in civil war aren't much known for keeping hugely detailed records in the process. What could possibly go wrong with inviting in a literal swarm of people who's even very names couldn't actually be checked against ANYTHING, just for starters?
