Topic: American''s Unfair Treatment of TWA Family

True, they all do it. One has to wonder one the next big company is going to go under. If someone were to start investegating the airlines just like Enron and Worldcom, they would have a field day with it. Time for re-regulation.

Unfortunatly many AA people would stand and cheer for uncle CARL.

Tools,
I hope you are joking because I think I can speak for almost all AAers. There isn't one of us that would ever "cheer" for a CEO that did as much damage as good ol' Uncl Carl. Just because we aren't willing to "roll over and play dead" doesn't mean we don't feel for you. I would NEVER wish the road you all have traveled with TWA on anybody. Remember whether you are happy or not, you are now part of AA. You (and all the other TWAers that are unhappy) can either become part of us and fight the current economic situatation or you can stand apart and watch your jobs disappear. I for one hope you make the right decision. Take care and have a good day.

I too wish all of this bickering would stop and certain individuals would cease fanning the fires. AA is our (my) employer and everyone that came over with me from TWA are doing the best job we can. No one will ever make a point here and convert someone from the other side. However, each one can accept whatever fate hands us and move on.

Fine. Stop all the lawsuits, political wrangling, and PR grandstanding in STL. THEN . . . we can all just "get along."

TW bought and merged Ozark. Not before some ideas of a staple themselves. In the end they caved in and Ozark got DOH. The TW assest bankruptcy fire sale was nothing like the TW/OZ combo. We view it different because of that and many other reasons. Not the least of which. At AA we believe that seniority here is earned on the job. Not in other areas of the company not from other companys.

Can anyone here confirm or deny that Ozark was making record profits when it was merged into TWA? I had heard that at work, and this may be the reason we view the AA/TWA transaction differently.

Please, by all means, feel free to quote me all you like, just get it right and don't take it out of context when you do. What I actually said, before you took liberties and chopped it to make it look like something totally different to compensate for whatever anatomical inadequacies you may have, was:

As a customer, I like to ride herd on the people I spend my money with

Now, that sounds much better, and comes from the point of view that it was intended....as a consumer

Have a nice day![:p]

I thought it went to court and the court ruled against the staple, it was not voluntary on twa's part. Is that incorrect?

Just a thought....as someone working at a company
now going through the bankruptcy process.....
I would eagerly welcome a job at one of the larger
companies...(AA,UA or DL) with job security and a future.
And I would be willing to give up my bidding seniority at this point, if I could keep my salary and benefits.
I know pilots feel differently ...but when your company
goes bk, a good job is a precious commodity.

I can understand the sadness and bitterness that
goes with many hard years of work and dedication, but
there are no guarantees in life. And the airline
business is always precarious in my experience.

Another thought...

Sadly the days of mergers are pretty much over.
The big airlines know they can just wait till a
company goes bankrupt and then pick up everything
cheaply....

I also look forward to 2003 or 2004 ...when the business
climate picks up and business travel returns ...everyone
will be busy and hopefully all the furloughed folks
will be back .....
