Top AA executives visit Tulsa base. AA/USAIR Committed to staying in Tulsa.

How convenient that this is their first time ever visit to the main base. Coincidence maybe? A fast and furious card drive to try to oust or stop this association from being steamrolled over us. Yes Tulsa will be here for a long time. We never doubted that claim but the question was always how many jobs will remain and how many skilled workers are forced to downgrade to save jobs? Tulsa (TWU) always found innovative ways to save jobs. Junior Mechanic, SRP, OSM. All TWU firsts. I guess local 514 and the International is saying this can all be accomplished if the association moves forward. We can not guarantee this will happen if you change representation or go no union. A few more scare tactics and threats by the company toy union. People this is about having a choice to vote on this association and to protect our PENSIONS from the IAM scam pension fund. I support the continued work at the main base and the preservation of jobs. This is all promising from the company and we should support the effort but don't let the TWU make you think for one second that it is only possible with the TWU in control. This is business and AA is in business to make money. Expansion of jobs and work is what we need. IN HOUSE is the only way we can help maintain this profession in the USA. I see in jetnet under careers that many AMT positions are opening up. The work is here and we need more AMT's to get into the field. Lets hope for the best that in the near future the benefits and pay will improve and attract talented individuals back in.

Perfect timing for this announcement. More yes votes and less AMFA cards signed coming out of TULE.

Show up and pretend to be concerned...."yes, Tulsa is in our long term plans"....vote in the company union (or Association) once again...let them negotiate another crappy contract....then down the road when the ax falls...."well, you voted for it" !!  Some people are just really scared of change or just not to swift....

Yeah, I'm sure it's just a coincidence that AAs big wheels show up at ground zero for the card drive that would put the IAM and TWU on the grill to answer questions about their plans going forward.

Honestly, if the guys at Tulsa that haven't signed cards yet can't see this for what it is, there is no hope.

Lets have an election and let the membership be heard.

This seems appropriate:

A promise of keeping Tulsa means nothing. Pretty sure we all know that Tulsa will stay, the question is how far down they will cut the jobs?  Sure Tulsa base will still be here, but how many will have to go somewhere else with all the downsizing?  The promise says NOTHING about the reductions of jobs at Tulsa just that it will remain after the merger is complete.  And on a second note, nowhere does anyone say how long it will stay "after the merger".   More antics by the company to keep the troops in Tulsa calm and happy, Pathetic I tell you, when will the Tulsa guys learn?
