The media continues to pound Usairways this morning. At this point its time to weed out those you dont give a crap, and will put their fellow employees jobs at risk. Thousands of people have been turned off from Usiarways, not to mention the constant media bashing of usair. The media and the public now want to know how we fixed this problem. They need to know that those who called in sick, and werent, were fired......... Fine, our lovely union will try and get their jobs back... and it may be difficult to figure out who was sick and who wasnt. There has to be a scape goat here, the public wants to hear about it. Fire the people who put their fellow co workers in a position of "no win" Fire the people who abused their sick time, and stranded thousands upon thousands of people and luggage. Fire the people who do not care about me, you, or their job, enough to show up and do the job THEY WERE HIRED TO DO !!!!!!!!!! Union, not withstanding, its time this company is operated like a private "for profit" buisness, and not operated like the FED Government...................... PS Youd think this would be the perfect way to help reduce the amount of "givebacks" the co wants fom IAM. By stuffing these "children" who could care less, IAM would save hundreds of thousands of dollars. Why would IAM want them on the payroll, when it takes good hard earned money, from the IAM members who work hard, and do their job? Time to get the "WEEDEATER" or better yet, "ROUND-UP"

is your name 'judas'?
little chaos kick you where it hurts?
you'd hang anyone out to dry to save your own skin at any price wouldn't you.
fear'n fer yer job there fliboy??

Sorry, but most companies do not tolerate abusive sick calls like they do at U. When all of you abusers have to look for another job, you will see that what you got away with at U won't wash at most other companies. Try feeding your kids with that.........

those of us who fly support u..all of us can/will be/ where u are now..its just a matter of time..let me ask u this..how much is enough?! lost pension, drastic paycuts and work rule changes and little or no hope left in your company? some of your flight crews and other employees will probably make more on unemployment at this point..remember the goal of management is to divide and create strife amongst employee groups and then turn around ask the courts to take it all from u while they still have their houses, family, material things and golden parachute long after usair is gone (god forbid)..dont know about u but id rather be unemployed than work for free.. good luck..AAer

Ya got me, I wasn't there this weekend. A no show, and I guess I should be hanging my head in shame... But wait before you line me and all my fellow no show bums up aginst a wall and shoot us.. Ya see it was just over 2 years ago, three days before another holiday(Thanksgiving) when I went to work as usual for my 7am shift in Tampa. And guess what, the hanger was closed, no planes, no workers, just an empty hanger. The company in all its glory had at 4am that morning came in and with no warning closed the hanger and sent everbody home. Of course it was an illegal action by the company , but they don't need to play by the rules do they. I mean who were we, just 400 employees out of work with no warning,so what. But when the tables are reversed(or so they claim), boy the big wigs and self righteous howl for revenge!!
So you see I have very little sympathy for the upptyups who run this so called airlines. And no, I didn't go back, I took the layoff and now work elseware .
So you see I was a no show last week, and will be a no show for the upcomming festivities this week..Any questions??
WHAT GOES AROUND, COMES AROUND BROTHER!!!!!!!!

Ah, but bikingjw, you misconstrue. Usfliboi could care less about your job. He's mad because he thinks others have jeopardized his cushy job. Which they have. But, you're right. There is karma, and what goes around, does, in fact, come around.

fliboy you' ve got to be working for a different co. U has had a sick policy in effect for years know. It contains all the tools needed to deal with abusive sick time use.

The problem is they are afraid to use it. We have got to have several people on level 7 or 8 on sick time/occurances and yet they are still here. Kind of makes the rest of us go, hmmm. If they can call out that much, a couple times for me isnt going to matter. I cant believe how many chances they give some of these people. I know there might be extenuating circumstances some times and I'm all for trying to help people out, but some people just abuse the help and continue to call out. There is a point where enough is enough and only the company can call that point. Obviously they arent doing it.
