Those laid off from Sales the Friday prior to the Ch.11 filing ago got severance.

Don't recall all the specifics, but they got a minimum of four weeks severence, outstanding 2004 VC and accrued 2005 VC at a minimum. Folks with more than four years seniority got additional weeks of severence based on their seniority, up to 20 weeks max.

But that was all pre-filing, and the rules may have changed...

Nah, they just hired 3 new ones plus 2 new managers because they were so "understaffed". I wonder about a couple of them though, seems all they do is wander aimlessly around the office.
I understand the res management team was told no one would be cut.

Two out of the four utility foreman in CLT were pink slipped today.

Like I have said before... I really feel bad for those people who loose their jobs. I wish the best for them and I am sure the future holds nothing but good things. Lets try not to be so heartless and remember that we are all in the same boat when it really comes down to it. It's sad really....good luck to you guys.

Honestly, I do not see anyone gloating about anyone , regardless of their position losing his or her job. I think most if not all know in their minds-eye that it just maybe the endgame scenario for everyone utimately regardless of what transpires in the courtroom.

I know I'm not going to laugh or gloat about some middle-management person getting tossed to the curb...Cuz if life hasn't taught me anything else? , it's certainly taught me the theory of "What comes around , Goes Around" or vice-versa.

I wish all those impacted a speedy return to the job market...and hopefully at a place where they are respected and well taken care of. I'm sure they had such hopes when they signed on with U...I know I did ..and what a long strange trip it's been.

They also started in c/s and the PIT Inflight dept. They eliminated specifically one supervisor in in -flight that had more employee/people skills and conflict/resolution skills out of the entire dept. put together. Jan was THE BEST of the best, and will be emensely missed by her f/as in PIttsburgh... She along with 3 others are gone. They will come back to the line; one resigned. That leaves 3 operational supervisors for PIT.

Sad day indeed.

It also gives us a good indication that PIT will lose approx. 500 f/as in PIT in the very near future.
