The twu just spit in your face!

Base rate for a US mechanic is $28.48.

Stock Clerk is $20.64

Utility is $18.45

Pretty large gap.

I am sure they will do better if the mechanics stop riding on their coattails.
When do they ask for a separate contract?

Never!

You were on their negotiating committee.
Good job.

Cue 700 explaining his vast knowledge of bankruptcy.

As it should be, does the mercedes auto mechanic make more than the Honda guy?

Why should a topped out stock clerk make more than a beginning A&P?

How many times are you going to put your two cents in AA biz when you're a IAM supporting stock clerk.

OH I forgot your good at making and getting copies, and from another thread I see you know all about financial districts and airport operation at CLT. WOW just a vast wealth of knowledge.

Did you gain all of that on your stock clerks pay while working under the CBA?

AMFA AT AA IN 2013

To have the Iam tell me a loaf of bread costs the same for a stock clerk or agent or ramp guy as it does for an aircraft mechanic so that justifies similar wages?

But of course the same rules don't apply to them. The loaf of bread costs the baggage handler and the mechanic just as much as it does the President of the IAM, yet they need six figure salaries.

Maybe if we just ignore 700's posts then he will go away. Clearly he will never understand what we amts had to go through to get our licenses and the responsibilities they carry throughout our careers. He will never understand why we feel the way we do about being compensated for such responsibility. I'm not against them making what they are making, but when it keeps us from making what we deserve(to be with at least non-union Delta or SWA) then I have a serious problem with them having even one of them having a vote on our contract. AMTS are SKILLED labor and should start being paid as such!

700UW is not your enemy. The unskilled are not your enemy. Overhaul in Tulsa is not your enemy. The TWU, IAM, IBT, or AMFA regardless of your opinions is not your enemy. Your enemy is those willing to continue to be divided and use the failures of others as a means to keep their appointed positions, those that want to maintain the status quo, or those that continue out of fear to take a public stand against the these tyrants. And that is just the beginning, that is the easy union side of our problems. Then the bigger enemy will emerge once you see, admit, and reject that enemy, and that is the rich corporate, greedy bastards, that control the political system via campaign cash and lobbying/buy offs. Most of you on this forum are trapped into the exact position the enemy wants you to remain. None of you demonstrate the intelligence or emotional ability to see the truth, develop a plan, and take on the real enemy. I read through this crap and on most days, exclaim, "I am surrounded by idiots", and instead of taking offense to that statement and attacking the messenger, then take a F'ing stand and do something about it. Bitching and complaining is the easy cowardly way out.

And with a class and craft union the union can focus on satisfying the work group it represents. Industrial unions have to satisfy all work groups. Skilled and unskilled.
AMFA today equals better representation for tomorrow.

Having said all that, not bitching and complaining at all, I guess you won't be sharing your opinion on weather stocks clerks should be voting on mechanics wages.

You are not incorrect, but the problem is more global than AA and the AMT, it will take more than consolidation of the AMT's in the industry to take on and fix this problem. I beg of each of you to being thinking along more global terms. Not to discourage you, but to prepare you for what it will really take to conquer our issues. AMFA at AA will only be the first step. And it will take real leadership to not experience the failures of the past.

You guys at WN are now the on the stage and the next group of AMT's at the sacrificial alter of the rich and powerful. The only question is can we unite not only the AMT's, but everyone one in this industry regardless of skill level to take on the real problem. Not to bust your bubble beliefs, but just think about this problem in broader and more global terms and you will see the path to success. IT IS NOW YOUR TURN. WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO?

Just got two mailings from the TWU and IBT, what I got out of it was that AMFA has better contracts and is geared toward AMTs.

That is NOW not when I was working pre AMFA days at NW... AMFA is the reason there is even that much of a spread. That gap between Stock Clerk and Utility that you just posted was how close AMT's were to Stock Clerks and Ramp at NW until we voted AMFA in. When I worked at NW our license premium was $1.40 for both A@P .under the Iam...Today at non-union FX my license prem is $16.30 per hr for both A@P. Tell me what advantage an AMT has going with the Iam or Twu for that matter?.
