teamsters file at us air

I didn't sign a card, and I know of no one that signed one either. At least that's what they say to my face.

I wonder how I could check if there was a card signed with my signature, or that of my co workers who claim they didn't sign a IBT card?

I really don't think they got that many cards signed here in PIT. The majority must have come from CLT or PHL.
Those same questions are being asked here in Tulsa. Alot of us never signed an ibt card and would like to find out if one has our name on it. I dont think they have enough cards anyway but are using this as their final interference maneuver for the twu.

Not sure if you can do this, but, what if everyone who did not sign a teamster card wrote the NMB and told them (in writing) that they did not sign a card for the teamsters and gave them your name, employee #, etc. and see if they could verify. At least then they will have more info to work with once the forgery issue is brought to their attention. It wouldn't hurt to take a little time to do so. You guys could also do it with one letter and attached names that did not sign along with the contest letter about the forgeries, just a thought.

Why not create a page on the AMFA@AA web site creating the letter you speak of, with the data you quoted; and, that will be submitted on behalf of all that sign that letter?

I did not sign anything for the IBT but would be willing to send a letter anyway because I did answer a phone call from an IBT phone bank that asked me if I was happy with TWU represention. I do not know that answering those questions negative to the TWU could have been used by the IBT to sign a card on my behalf.

Here's a fact stated in one of the news releases:
"In 2012, the Teamsters lost more members than any other union in the United States" and "has resorted to raiding established unions at American Airlines and US Airways,"

What more do you need. It is fact and you really have to ask yourself, why? Why is it that the teamsters have lost more members in 2012 than any other union, again, ANY OTHER UNION, in any industry, in 2012?? And look how many different industries the teamsters are in. This speaks volumes people. Please do your research about the teamsters before you vote, you will be better informed if you do.

You and I have been wrong more than once on this board and have been on opposite sides of just about every subject, but I finally agree with at least part of your post. Your last sentence; "Please do your research about the teamsters before you vote, you will be better informed if you do" is finally something I can agree with.

The rest of your jibirish is your attempt at negative politics and expected throughtout this campaign.

Before the Teamsters at UA, we were behind most other carriers in pay and benefits and wondered which jobs would leave next to which country.

We are now second in pay only behind SWA and with our new OT and Field trip language some of our mechanics are earning even better than them. We have gone through a steady stream of recalling mechanics. In FACT, most of our stations now have all their furloughed mechanics back on payroll. We are better informed and feel more comfortable that the Teamsters will take the necessary time needed to make sure what they do is the right thing for the members.

Your right, swamt, in encouraging voters to taka a good look at the Teamsters. You will be better informed when you do and feel better about voting for the IBT.

Nice twist there. You never addressed the documented quote of "In 2012, the Teamsters lost more members than any other union in the United States" and "has resorted to raiding established unions at American Airlines and US Airways,"
The teamsters suck Anomaly. I can say this because we had to deal with them for far too many years here at SWA with all their corruptions (plural), "behind close door" deals, wasting dues monies on outrageous pay scales for officers and all teamster officials, and illegal activities, etc etc...

And yet you stayed at the top of the pay charts for all that time?

Why doesnt UA/CO have a JCBA?

Why does UA have Mechanics on layoff and CO is hiring off the street?

Why is half the SFO mechanic and related forced to be in the LAX local?

And to think that guys still support the Teamsters knowing this information.

When HP (America West) was IBT their main representative and lead negotiator was Andy Marshall, Andy is a UPS delivery driver, never was an Aircraft Mechanic nor had he ever worked for an airline, hence why the IBT CBA at HP was the worst in the industry.

Still dodging topic I see. Address this Anomaly; "In 2012, the Teamsters lost more members than any other union in the United States" and "has resorted to raiding established unions at American Airlines and US Airways,"

SWA mechanics were not on the top of the pay charts all that time with the IBT.

We went in top with our contract in 2002 using the NWA mechanics wages as our goal.

The teamsters were aware we would not accept anything less than top wages, however they did not realize that money wasn't all we expected from a union.

We started a card drive and voted out the IBT shortly after ratification of that industry leading contract.

So why do you think we dumped the IBT?

Why don't you ask Gary Drummond, TWU air transport director? He is the one who said the statement you love to repeat.

http://www.bizjournals.com/dallas/news/2013/05/28/teamster-file-for-election-to.html

But what the hell, I'll play your silly games. Drummond may have got his information from this site,

http://www.1-888-no-union.com/teamstersoutofbusiness.html

A site that attacks all unions, including yours, as bad for the employers who are only trying to make an "honest" buck (on the backs of their workers I might add). According to these guys; Why do the Teamsters' union lose so many members? Very simply: Many of the companies the union has unionized cannot compete in a competitive market.

In words you might be able to understand, Gary Drummond may be aligning himself with those veary same individuals who feel union workers like you and I are overpaid and are the cause for collapsing companies. You want to try to tell that to the former NWA mechanics? Remember this guy and his friends as amfa gets to your financial talks during your current round of negotiations. When the company explains that you are already the highest paid and you get no more, just thank Mr Drummond.

Tit for tat....What percentage of it's membership did amfa loose between 2005 and 2009?

When amfa took over at UA, the guy calling the shots was nothing more than a real estate sales man who had never even been part of a union.

http://www.businessweek.com/stories/2004-06-03/labors-outside-man

Labor leaders typically follow the same arc in their careers, starting with an entry-level job at a unionized shop, rising to a union post at the local and district levels, and then, finally, winning election to the national presidency. Not Kevin McCormick. He operates one of today's fastest-growing unions, the Aircraft Mechanics Fraternal Assn. (AMFA), yet he had never previously even been in a union. Not only that, he works as an outside contractor.... Click the link above for the rest of the story.
