SUPPORTING THE PILOTS

Schedule the day and I'll call out sick...have no time but, I'll do it.
That will show them....those ALPA scum...
Do you have any conception of the fact that ALPA does not run your company and calling in sick will accomplish nothing?

No I think they got pissed when AA reneged on their promise to keep those base stations open but soon thereafter closed them down and out the doors they went.
Their bases are still open. They were just downsized. They were pissed because ALL OF THEM couldn't put nAAtives on the street in AA bases; but a good many of them did.

The captain on the trip I am on right now has two friends who are now at AW. The first friend was hired 4 years AFTER our captain was hired by Piedmont. The second friend was hired by AW 2 years after our captain was hired by Piedmont.
Friend #1 will now be approx. 1000 numbers senior to our captain, Friend # 2 is now approx. 400 numbers senior.
No matter whose fault it is, there had to have been a better way. As far as whoever said that we should be sensitive to our pilots state of mind right now. I have to agree. My F/O will NEVER see the left seat and is so pi$$ed he can hardly talk about it. Nothing like watching all your loyalty and dreams be flushed away.
Just my opinion.

Well, not to sound callous, but misfortune happens in aviation. Braniff, Pan Am, Eastern, TWA. On the other hand, many have riden a winning horse by going with United, American, DAL, SWA and more recently CAL. Careers are no different than investing for the long term: you've got to know when to get out and cut your losses. Your F/O, like many AAA'ers, made the mistake of staying at the table and doubling down again and again. Finally, knowing it's the last hand, they treated an arbitration as if it were a casino. They wanted to bet it all and recoup much of what they've "lost" post 9/11. Now, they found out the hard way that Nicolau is not a dealer and Lady Justice is not a cocktail waitress.

Care to name me one "legacy" carrier that is represented by the Teamsters? Always thought the average USAir employee wasn't that far removed from a street thug. I guess this infatuation with Teamsters proves it.
