Statement from IAM

Ask your self this.....What possible bargining power can the iam have with the company. If they get there jobs back it will be on the backs of every employee.
Its time to let the iam go...............
to be honest with you, there aint no way in he!! that the IAM is going to even attempt to get the outsourced cities their jobs back. I have already let the IAM go back in APRIL of 2005 when the idiot leaders of the IAM told us we're done.

what you fail to glean is a 50%(which is reaching as far as turnout) vote from U easties with the furloughees who more likely than not will not cast ballots will run it quite close to decertification.

then you shall have your wish and then some. ;)

http://www.nmb.gov/representation/deter1999/26n43.html

Of 1,999 eligible voters, 1,063 cast valid ballots for TWU. This was sixty-four more than the majority required for Board certification.

they'll be afforded the same representation as anyone else who was in policy violation...no more no less.

or should we hang these people without a trial?

i see you'd like that option....

All I can say is I wish I had gone to law school. This incident is a plantifs lawyers dream. Once IAM and company get done firing and disciplining those involved and the police charge and convict there is a multimillion dollar settlement the IAM will be making. Just need mt contingency fee. 33% of whole bunch of money is a lot of money.
I heard their financial situation was not good before this incident, hmmm.YOU,D BE ROLLIN IN IT!

I seriouily doubt the international will be held liable for the renegade actions of 25 members.

The IAM is responsible/obligated to represent these individuals. But what price can you put on the image damage?

If the IAM has to represent them it is done at the Local level then the District, the IAM only has to represent them if the company takes any action against them.

Anything that is done is confidential and by law (Duty of Fair Representation) they have to legally represent if the company takes action against any member.

Someone turn the lights on and see if Robert ROACH Jr. runs for cover. I am certain that when the light is shed on the TWU beating that ROACH will scurry away quickly. :)

" This means
that the IAM is devoted to resolve the representation issues through the process set forth by the
National Mediation Board. The IAM is counting on all of its members to help us do this task
through the orderly conduct that the IAM has demonstrated for years and to which the IAM is
committed today.
Fraternally and sincerely,
Robert Roach, Jr."
