PB-

Just trying to be funny. But I don't think your favorite poster has a dual personality!

Not being an art aficianado, could you enlighten me as to the story behind the artwork you use as your name icon please. Very interesting.
If PB is trully a Pit f/a then her avitar should be a tank with a blue bag draped over it...........

N9,

You know as well as I do, no....better than I do....so cut the CRAP!

Care to enlighten us on where you are on the seniority list???
Oh no!

Just found out you're married to Jerry Glass!

The key to US Airways' new business plan is to reduce distribution costs to permit a new and simplied pricing plan -- GoFares. Why?

See article

Without lower costs across-the-board, new service like those described in the article above and Internet booking will force US Airways out of business.

In the piture, she is naked with wearing only huge white boots. i had to shrink the picture to not expose her nakedness, or the moderators would have disapproved it.

MDA/J4J opportunities (some employees)
I'll ask again since you failed to respond in the previous thread (as you usually do when you have no answer), what happened to MDA jobs jobs for all furloughed employees. Don't give me some pat answer about the world changing or further LCC expansion. Some job classifications were never posted for MDA, nor did many work groups ever get notification of what positions may be open. Where did they go or was this another outright lie by management to the employees?

You know I have had my differences with PITbull but frankly I don't know if you're trying to "tweak" her or what but i find the tone disturbing to say the least.

There is no disgrace in honest labor. F/A work is just that honest labor. Is it Brain Surgery? NO! it isn't, but neither is flying a plane.

Also what's with the weight jokes? How far does your belly "Dunlap" over your belt?

You know PITbull I can't help but wonder did a PIT F/A turn down this guys request to be his "Weekend Wife" or what?

Maybe I'll re read some of his posts, so far not impressed as this kind of commentary adds no value to the debate
Yes, if a brain surgeon makes a mistake, he kills one person. A mistake by a pilot or yes, a flight attendant can kill over 100. Same goes for mechanics whose job working on the "body" of an aircraft is directly similar to working on a human body,
ie hydraulic lines similar to arteries and veins, wiring similar to nerves. Recent airings of the Captain Al Haynes in SUX and the Air Transat A-330 that landed in Lajes with no fuel provide a reminder that operating an aircraft is more than just pushing buttons. It takes many skilled people to safely operate an airplane. It is ironic that as flying has become safer and safer, the travelling public values the skills of the peolpe who make it that way less and less.

No, it is not even close to the description -- but that really isn't the point, is it?

The person has an empty black hole where a heart should be. Reducing anyone down to an object and minimizing their professional role to that of something they view as beneath them sheds light on the essence of the person's spirit. There is nothing wrong with being a waitress, there is nothing wrong with being a flight attendant (I'm not equating them), there is no shame in working hard for a living. Whether the physical size of a person is large or small is irrelevant -- if their insides are ugly and bigoted and they're proud and willing to display that here, that speaks volumes.

And don't sit and stretch the facts. ALPA IS SCHEDULED TO LOSE JOBS AS WELL! And you do nknow how many.....cause I know how many!
PITbull,

i read a lot of info on Uair and did not see any public posted info on numbers of furloughs desired by company going forward. If able, would you post these numbers for any groups you know of?

If not, can you give the drivers for these furloughs?

Thanks

Everyone continues to pound their chest while chanting the concession stand is closed.....that's what you think  .

One way or another, these UAIR swindlers will get what they want (not need) thru their well demonstrated methods of fear mongering, extortion and outright robbery ultimately with the help of a revisit to BK....and we are not talking about Burger King here.

So do yourselves a favor and plan your alternate now!!

I am in NO WAY promoting giving into anything management asks for. I'm a NO all the way but that doesn't mean that they will not get money from me. Get it???

Denial is a terrible state to be spinning around in......for Pete's sake....PULL UP ALREADY!!!
Everyone continues to pound their chest while chanting the concession stand is closed.....that's what you think
lets say U goes back into BK.....for the good of their represented membership, can IAM refuse to negotiate with a closed conncession stand??
will IAM let the contract go through abrogation and have U impose one of their own ??
at what cost now and what good has it done to keep the conncession stand closed??
duh.......

I agree that there isn't much flawed about the "contents" of the current plan.

My argument is that the flaws are in the implementation and lack of certain areas in the plan.

1. I feel that this plan should have been implemented in BK or earlier. Why UAIR execs did not look for a new path when BK was clearly on the path ahead is beyond me.

2. This plan is for survival, which is not assured at this point. That is indicated to me by the lack of a future plan. There is no fleet simplification, no Express carrier simplification part of this plan, that I know of. Surely, if fleet simplification was part of the plan, the company would not have ordered 2 different types of 70-seat regional jet.

This is why I think that this is NOT Seigel's plan. Seigel did not originally intend to go to value pricing. He did not prepare for LCC type pricing, because he did NOT see the future correctly... can't really blame him, I guess. But he has to accept accountability anyway.

Didn't he say that U was NOT going to make itself over as WN? On some phone update. He wanted America West type contracts or close to it, but I think that the original plan was not to have Go Fares. Then when WN announced Philly.... all bets were offf... but that was after U came out of BK, wasn't it.

I suspect that Seigel tried to do a 180 and turn his plan into the right plan as circumstances changed, but he had no credibility. I think this is a little unfair, because, judging by the attitudes on this board, he would have been pilloried anyway.
