Response to USAPA ad in USA Today

Do you east guys really think that US Airways is an unsafe airline?

I would like an honest answer.

Of course you know the answer to it.... It's the margin of safety... Un Safe operation is one of those things that quietly sneaks up on you until it bites you in the behind... The way team tempe operates now is not part of a safe operation. The constants management by intimidation and fear makes the margin of safety not what it should be...

It only takes on at 550 MPH to bring that to light!

Thanks for spewing usapa's opinion back. I asked for your opinion. Do you even have one of your own or do you just wait for Cleary to give it to you?

Do you mad man think that Us Airways is an unsafe airline?

No I do not know the answer to what east pilots think. That is why I asked the question. So in your opinion US airways is safe just marginally not as safe you think it should be. Does the cactus call sign make the airline unsafe? Do flows make the airline unsafe? That in your opinion it could be safer. In order to be really safe we could just never fly the jets that would be safe with a huge margin of safety. But you east guys have managed to damage aircraft just taxing around so maybe that would not fix it either.

You talk about constant intimidation and fear. I have never been intimidation and I am not afraid of management if I do my job the way the way they tell me to. What is it that you guys are doing that makes you afraid of management? Why are you afraid of management? Mighty usapa can protect you from the evil company right. Could it be that you are not doing what they tell you for some other reason and you are afraid to have to answer for your actions?

Simple question. Do you think that US Airways is an unsafe airline to fly?

It seems impossible for you to answer a simple question. I guess I am kind of a moron for thinking that I could have a half way intelligent conversation with you.

Good bye! Ignore feature engaged. Feel free to wallow in your ignorance and fantasy.

Clear, you should know by now th MM, Swan. and a host of other east pilots can't answer a simple question unless they get it cleard by the union. The are drones and have no brain activity.

I would like an honest answer.

No you don't. I answered that question a week or so ago. You just want something to argue with. But, I will answer it again, honestly. I do not believe US Airways is an unsafe airline. To the contrary, I feel it is a very safe airline. The issue I have is that I see disturbing trends developing that have the potential to reduce our margin of safety. I feel that management, from Doug down to the CP office is saying "We know best. You are only saying XXX as a job action. Shut up and do as you are told." Safety is two way street and for effective safety it has to be an open and honest two way street. That is management's job! They have created and perpetuated the problems we have here.

Do you fly the Airbus? It's like the trend line is pointed down and someone just kicked off the auto thrust. Management is saying it will take care of itself, we are saying, "Yeah, but let's add a little power before we get to Alpha Prot."

So usapa spent how much $ on an ad. Informed the public that US Airways is an unsafe airline. But in reality it is a safe airline just not as safe as in your opinion it COULD be. You and the east pilots are trying to drive away customers because of the margins. It is safe just not what you would like. As long as it is all about you and not the other 35000 employees I am sure they thank you.

Talked to a crew the other day and the push back crew was not impressed or happy about the USA Today ad.

You know usapa told the pilots to take back the airline and usapa would protect them from the company. Well good luck with that.

See, just as I said, you didn't want an answer. Margins, with a downward trend, dumbass. Do you often ignore downward trends in your life? Oh, right, never mind, you have been doing here for a while. You are a grade A TOOL.

You know nothing about me. Every time I go to work I do the very best jobs I can, for our customers, my crew and every other US Airways employee. I truly operate with the priority:
1) Safety
2)Passenger comfort
3)Schedule
4)Efficiency

Just as I'm instructed to do. No games, no illegal job actions, so don't speak about what you don't know.

Your anger is misplaced. Had this place been managed correctly, we wouldn't be having this fight!

As stupid as you are I don't see how you manage to find an airplane, much less fly one.

Couple this with Doug's rah rah article on safety in this month's magazine (which is VERY out of place for a CEO article), it just APPEARS that where there is smoke there is fire.

This article?

All of our pilots would have performed as well as Captain Sully Sullenberger and First Officer Jeffrey Skiles, who safely splash-landed US Airways Flight 1549 in the Hudson River,” says Captain Skinner

Were Sully and Jeff in a Mercury space capsule, or is the editor of the US magazine using the USAToday Deskbook On Style?

Which is why I made the point that if it's so safe let DougWeiser and Scotch hop on board to reassure the customers. If they have all this confidence then they along with Isom would relish to the chance to discredit USAPA yet to date all we hear is Crickets

I don't them blame, really. Gestures like this can turn out very wrong, even if something happens that is not the fault of the PIC or US.

The real question is if there were no contract issue ongoing would USAPA placed this add and the answer is absolutely not!
