QC off the b checks

In our case, they weren't stupid.  Just lazy.  We as a group never read what was presented to us to vote on.  Just the highlights.
 
When we voted just a few years ago to give up our receiving and dispatching duties, the company basically pitted O/H against the line.  Overhaul didn't care about pushbacks, they didn't do it.  They wanted their extra $1.00 per hour. The company wanted to give that work to Fleet, and they did it with our blessing.
 
The union, at that time, even recommended a Yes vote.  And now as a result, the latest rumor I heard here in PIT, is Fleet will start training for APU starts soon.

QC is still on the BCs. That was much ado about nothing. There were some card revisions that moved QC off some initial checks.

Having two people (AMT and QC) do the initial on the same area never made sense. Have any QC inspectors been laid off? Is the BC tanking? How many grievances have been filed? Is there a 29d coming out from 591? DFW is Schaible, Mishak, and GP's home station so why haven't they put a stop to it?

With you claiming it to be your home station also, exactly why would you need to ask?

I'm not. Sounds like members don't have a problem with it apparently since the BCs in JFK, MIA, and DFW seem to making it okay.

I don't remember any overlap of QA and AMTs inspecting the same thing. I'm familiar with both narrow and wide body B-ck formats because I did both as a inspector and mechanic. On the wide bodies except for the cabin, QA would do all of the inspections of exterior, pits, engines. Cabin would be inspected only if a zone card was issued, if it was not, a mechanic would look everything over. Lavs and some flightdeck items were always inspected.

And the last time we screwed around with BC's where did the 737 and 757 go? Did JFK, SFO, and LAX have our backs...
