Profit Sharing Checks: DELAYED

So you've spent $25K with US? Last year I easily spent four times that and walked away when US began costing me credibility.

Nobody from US even contacted me to find out why I left.

Not to beat a dead horse....but they don't care....I dropped $60K last year...and TOLD them I wasn't happy....and they don't care...I get a $7.50 an hour, friendly, but COMPLETELY not empowered person from the 480 area code calling me to tell me they "love me."

But they don't care....there's no sense in waiting on anyone at "The New US Airways" to contact you or ask you why you left....because, in their world, EVERYTHING is wonderful! And when things aren't wonderful, it's because The city of PHL/PHX/Arlen Specter/ATC/ANYONE else, did it.

Other then that, I LOVE BUSINESS CRAPUAL!!!!

UPDATE- Profit Sharing and AIP Programs Will Pay Out Week of March 17

March 7, 2008

Yesterday, we sent out a USNews Now detailing the profit sharing and bonus programs and stated checks would be paid on March 12. We are today correcting the distribution date. Profit sharing and bonus checks are now scheduled for distribution the week of March 17.

Here’s why: during our final review of profit sharing and bonus files to be submitted to payroll for processing, we discovered some discrepancies that might have resulted in certain people getting paid incorrectly. Rather than take that risk, we want to do more work and continue to validate the data over the next several days to ensure we produce accurate checks. This means we’ll be distributing checks a few days later.

If employees have bank withdrawals such as automatic bill pay set up to deduct money based on your profit sharing or AIP bonus, please contact your bank and make alternative arrangements.

If you have additional questions, please email [email protected] and we will direct your email to the appropriate person. We apologize for the delay.

a bonus check is different and should have some float time.

 Are you kidding? Float time? My firm announces every year when our bonus checks will be issued nearly a year before we know what they are. There is no reason for this and it shows disrespect for the employees as well as their obvious incompetence.

This sentence from the communication pretty much sums up the big problem US Airways has..
Parker's M.O. is for the company to constantly communicate to the employees.

In theory this is great and I agree with it but what ends up happening in practice is every department in Tempe wants to put out information before they actually check the accuracy of said information.

The result is a constant communication of corrections and apologies which has the complete opposite result of what constant communication is intended to do.

One gets to the point, and it is obvious by reading this forum, that the majority of employees do not believe information that comes out of Tempe anymore.

The credibility is gone.

Money is money.

The profit sharing check should have been delivered after the 2007 year end results were posted. The company already set aside the money for the profit for the first three quarters. The only thing to be added was the fourth quarter. The copmany is making big bucks on the short term interest on the millions of dollars owed and promised to its employees. This is just another way the company continues to hastle its employee base. Yet should we really expect anything less from management? Just another way to divide and deface the real people that run the company...

Just my opinion...

I think you are right. Unfortunately this is the way of corporate america. A few days or a week, if you keep billions in the bank the interest adds up.

I said this a million times that EVERY industry has to make a profit. A small inconvenience is a small sacrifice in this cut-throat world. I somehow may be unique in that I allow for mistakes and save a few bucks to ride a bit of storm.

It's like the people who file their taxes and want that instant check that makes them lose hundreds of dollars had they waited a week or two. Business is business and sometimes vices are best put on hold.

I think the entire workforce America would freak if they heard the one about how corporate America has life insurance policy on all their employees. Of course that is just a vicious rumor

just my humble opinion

HEY TEMPE ,

I tell you what I PROMISE TO DO MY BEST TO GET YOUR SMELLY AIRPLANES OFF THE GATE ON TIME.

oh wait .. I AM SORRY I TAKE THAT BACK .. I will get them out when I FEEL like it's fits my needs.....

D.P S.K AND THE REST OF THE COLLEGE GRADS >> YOU ARE A JOKE..

quit F*c*ing with peoples money.

My calendar says that the week of March 17 ends on the 21st (if one only counts business days) so the checks could be 9 days later than originally announced. Does as many as 9 constitute "a few days".....

Well it seems we wont be getting our profit sharing checks until sometime the week of the 17th according to one of my supervisors. He showed me the email today. I checked the hub and didn't see anything. Just a heads up. This is so typical of this company. Can they ever deliver anything on time as promised????

OH BOO HOO.....JUST QUIT THEN

Who twisted your knickers Newman?

Try being 9 days late on your mortgage and see if your bank is not up in your face/ The folks at US Aren't exactly breaking down the door to the bank with wheelbarrows full of cash. Many need this money and in good faith budgeted based on the information provided by the company.

I wonder if US Airways tell their Aircraft leasing companies "We'll pay you a few days late because we need to make sure the payments are correct". Tell me Newman do you think Parker and Kirby would send that e-mail to GE Capital?

To bad the RLA prevents the workers from walking out en masse on March 12th and staying out until checks are delivered. You'd see management up off their collective asses in no time.

If you are living day-by day on your pay checks you need to get some help on budgeting your money The profit shearing check is not a guaranty. When was the last time you got one , not counting last year?

The profit shearing check is not a guaranty.
It is once they announce (1) that there will be one, and (2) when they announce when it will be paid. At that point it becomes just like any paycheck. Unless you're US (or one of it's apologist's) it seems......

OH BOO HOO.....JUST QUIT THEN

Thats easy for you to say. I actually like my job, and have no plans of leaving. I am very optimistic actually that management will eventually leave and with it will come a new opportunity for US to move up and along.

The fact of the matter is that nearly everything management promises employees, it either delays or takes back completely. Good executives and leaders do not do this because they would have checked for accuracy the first time before opening their mouths. This is just another clear display of how ignorant Tempe is.

Actually it IS Guaranteed. The Company made it public and it's part of the CBA's. What is not guaranteed is the amount of the payout.

I cashed a Profit Charing Check for 12 out of 12 years at Xerox, 3 out of 3 with Minolta. With my current employer I've cashed 5 Career Success bonuses and soon I will cash Profit Sharing Check 5 of 5.

The difference is with my 3 employers and US Airways is this. We had the money on the date it was promised, you folks will not. Think about this from a purely business standpoint. The compelling business reason to deliver the checks on time as promised reinforces the on time nature of the aviation business.

THE 14TH IS NOT HERE YET
