Profit made

No, I have paid fees personally. What I don't accept is this company charging elites fees which are waived by their competitors for their best customers. It has more to do with the disdain Tempe apparently has for their high volume customers, as well as the employees.

I get that the fare structure is broken, probably beyond repair. Nothing short of re regulation will fix that. I do have a fundamental objection to nickel and diming customers, however, especially when it obscures the true cost of travel. To charge a flyer who travels once a year for a better seat is more understandable than charging one who spends $20k or more a year with you....other airlines get that and are far better run and more profitable than US. I wonder why.

It's also kind of scary when the entire profit is roughly equal to the amount collected in these ancillary fees...further proof of how airlines in general would all be losing money without them...this is the only industry where you can sell your product at a loss and not face federal charges of dumping...but that's another story..

I agree ART..bring back regulation so we can do away with the fees and double maybe triple the fares....

because the union employee is reminded daily of how overpaid and useless we are by people like you. why do you have such hatred for unions? does it not sit well with you that people organize together for the improvement to all, rather than suck your way up for your own personal gain?

I nearly lost my job due to a pilot strike. They thought they deserved more than they were actually worth. Due to their actions all my agents were laid off, and my hours were cut in half. Myself and all the other employees went through financial distress because of some greedy union pilots. And do not tell me they were doing it to improve our lives. They nearly destroyed them.

As for the sucking up comment that is a typical union response. I do not suck up. My work ethic will allow me to move up for my own personal gain. I do not expect to be handed a position just because I am senior like you union people expect.

yawn .... can you imagine if we could see what the real numbers are! i believe the non manipulated figures would be astonishing!

You are aware that US is a publicly traded company. If you think there are shenanigans, then call the SEC. Or just make stuff up...

These union and non union discussions are getting annoying. Believe it or not, one cannot survive without the other. Management would have machines and monkeys do everybody's work

Just don't feel too secure in your job, regardless, because EVERYBODY is replaceable. Unless your father owns the company, because nepotism is alive and well in all good paying jobs union and non union.

50% of the mechanics removed off the line, paycuts, higher premiums for medical, pay freeze, work rule changes and many other things, every group gave concessions.

I'm a great fan of all of them! Really, I love you guys!

You'll appreciate this Art. A few years back in one of the company rags someone sent in a note about morale. The response was something like, it must be OK, look at the performance stats we are producing! It didn't stay up long...........................

Did Tempe hire someone a few years back as Vice President for Morale (or some such nonsense.) What ever happened to her? Is she still simply sitting by the country club pool collecting her (likely) obscene salary while the entire employee group has a meltdown?

Why would Tempe-based Kettle Air care about the "elites?" Art, you are a non-person in their eyes, although I think you already know that.

I am an employee and do not feel the company hinders my job or thinks of me less. But then I am not part of a union. look at the two groups, union and non union, why are the non union employees content and happy with things and the union groups are unhappy misrable?

We know you are an employee and not part of a union. That's obvious to my dog. We are simply trying to find out which office on Mahogany Row on Rio Salado Drive you occupy. Of course you don't "think the company hinders your job or thinks less of me." You are part of the problem and oblivious to real world conditions. It's as plain as the day is long.

Why didn't you just fire them all? Then see how well your airline ran.

If you are in the airline business, pilots are a fact of life and essential by definition. You? Not so much.

It was a win-win, we took concessions but on our terms, not the company's, that is why we went on strike.

They were begging us Monday Morning when we walked out of talks to stay and not go on strike.

And like everyone else we got 100% back one year and two years later in regards to pay and stock options.
