Possible Restoration of Lost Wages for Flight Attendants

The 40 hour limitation that was removed from the TA contingent on the membership approving the TA was put back in. That was the only change. Basically, it will be implemented in a couple years when we have a PBS system, that limits an FA from trip trading below 40 hours in a contractual month.

Smart of the Executive Committee to ratify the higher rates without a membership vote - never know how those votes are going to turn out . . .

I guess diamondcutter didn't get that memo, claiming Nothing was taken out.

Maybe someone in the know can post what was given up to get the money back in.

According to APFA, nothing.

I did get the memo the 40 will be implemented with pbs!

yes WT - care to explain how this was never going to happen

GQ - thanks for helping WT remember one of his fantasy posts

Color me surprised if that , in fact, is the only thing.
Considering what the company could have legally done based on the TA vote, this is as good as the FAs could have imagined.

Congrats.

This was a great way to plant a seed of hope in labor relations.

An easy decision for Parker, given that they had already calculated the financials of the T/A.

Smart move by him and LG.

[SIZE=10pt]In addition, APFA and AA confirmed the parties' previous understanding of language that already exists in the JCBA with regard to a possible wage adjustment once the UAL/CAL Flight Attendants achieve a contract. The parties confirmed that a joint United/Continental contract can only have a positive impact on our Agreement. The APFA Executive Committee unanimously adopted the following resolution: https://www.apfa.org/images/arbitration/EC_Resolution_12_18_14.pdf.

WHEREAS,
on December 18, 2014, the Company and APFA
confirmed the parties’ previous understanding that under paragraph 3 of the JCBA Award, when United/Continental reaches a Flight Attendant JCBA, the only adjustments to our JCBA shall be upward changes to our JCBA wage rates.

it avoids labor problems.

Even if the expectation was that AA would have paid it anyway, it raises questions of how much Parker is willing to pay for labor peace the next time around.... and the FAs are the first group to go... other groups will be emboldened by this action.

good for the APFA and I was wrong.

It still won't come anywhere close to keeping AA FAs at industry comparable compensation because the contract significantly undervalued profit sharing.

but I'm glad the AA FAs have apparently been given a reprieve.

Your desire to find negativity in any positive for AA and/or it's employee's is astounding WT, simply astounding.
Are you sure "A Christmas Carol" wasn't really based off you (except for the happy ending)...Geeez

Does Delta give their employees a 9.9% bonus(if your over 50) EVERY month for the next 5 years? I don't believe so. I'll take my 9.9% bonus over PS any day! Just a little something the APFA got for us!

This is a win win for everybody

yes voters, get deserved pay raises
self righteous no voters, got to vote no on principle, and get pay raises
politically motivated no voters, got to trash LG and get pay raises
the uninformed/misinformed no voters, don't get penalized for their own ignorance
the didn't vote, get pay raises despite their apathy
and ALL working FA's win, the hard 40 will make those FAs who don't want to work as FA, either work or leave AA

I already hear the spin, DP is doing this to cover LG butt, I guess having  a good working relationship is a good thing then.

Hopefully DP does this for ALL work groups, as there is more to AA then just flight crews.
