How can you make another deal with someone who attempted to break the 1st one! If any of you DO FOR DAVEers can guarantee this management will not try to violate another contract i will be amazed! Now I know what the Native Americans must have thought when they were asked to sign up for just one more treaty!

What kind of plan and management do you desire? You have JetBlue expanding from the North, AirTran expanding up from the South, and Southwest announcing service into Philadelphia. The management and the company are surrounded on all sides by LCC's. Solidarity is fine and blaming management is ages old - how are you going to fight those 3 companies?

ITRADE,

AND WHO ARE YOU AGAIN???????? DID YOU SAY YOU WERE NOT MANAGEMENT?????? DID YOU SAY YOU DON'T WORK FOR USAIRWAYS?????? DID YOU SAY YOU WERE NOT A LIAR???????????????

What would you know about Scotty, Bill, Teddy????? How would you have any inclination of the inner workings of our unions????????

And US Airways, by design, shrinking in the middle.

Yeah! Now there's a plan I'm eager to sign off on.

UNIONS.......

Concessions as far as hourly wage cuts...............NO
Concessions as far as vacation time....................NO
Concessions as far as sick time reduction............NO
Concessions as far as medical............................NO
Concessions as far as head count reduction.........NO

If they need ANYTHING it will be in the form of productivity issues only. This also means that it cannot result in headcount loss.

Force them to offer leaves but NO FURLOUGHS. If they can't get enough to leave (which I doubt likely they wouldn't) too bad. Let it reduce by attrition.

The absolute biggest thing you must DEMAND. NO BONUSES FOR SENIOR MANAGEMENT UNTIL THIS COMPANY SHOWS A PROFIT FOR AT LEAST 2 QUARTERS. MANAGEMENT WAGES CUTS AT LEAST 20% AS OURS EQUALED OUT TO BE JUST ABOUT THAT WITH WAGES, MEDICAL, VACATION, SICK, RESERVE SYSTEM AND EVERY OTHER SACRIFICE WE MADE.

YOU MUST ALSO GET THAT NO FURLOUGH LANGUAGE PUT BACK IN OUR MODIFIED.

Get a buyout for retirement.

Why does this company want to keep the most expensive employees on the property. That would save them millions.

What are your thoughts.

I just don't get how groups can refuse to even talk. Some job/pay/benefits is better than none, no? There aren't exactly a million airline jobs available these days.

Yes, I'm new to the board, but I actually LIKE my job, and my company, and I'm not a senior executive, either.

Does anyone think that DAve and his gang are looking for concessions so that in the end, he and Bronner can jump with their golden parachutes on?

Even if concessions are made, they will probably still say it is not enough and start selling off assets.

So sad

Twicebaked,
Excellent. I would vote for those conditions in a heartbeat.

NCFL,
No problem. Go tell your manager that you agree to work for the federal minimum wage, will pay for all your medical insurance, and will agree to take vacation days only when the company thinks it won't effect its needs of service.
After all,
"There aren't exactly a million airline jobs available these days."

And for the rest of us, all together now:

If we gave the Dave’s have every thing they want they would find a way to group us in with service industry food servers and pay us less than the federal minimum wage.

This example of capitalism is a no win situation. I have heard it described as a (turd spiraling down the toilet), that is if we get far enough below South West then they will have to cut below us, then we again would have to take cuts, ad infinitum.

If we are asked again to take pay/benefits cuts while the boyo’s slap their backs and get bonuses and retention raises we owe it to our selves to blacken our own eye’s.

Perhaps as a service to the rest of the industry we could put a stop to this cancerous and possibly contagious disease and perform self-sacrifice. Kill the host and put an end to this Lorenzo type paradigm that the Dave’s have cooked up, you know sort of a for God, Country and fellow Airline worker thing.
;)

700UW,

Why is it that anyone who disagrees with your over promising under delivering union is a management drone
HI BOB-it just seems so coincidental that everytime U gets into some type of labor fiasco all of the sudden "boing" here is a whole group of these newbies selling pro-dave manna.look back into past 'critical milestones' and this pattern emerges.
dave and his merry band of company stooges....sorry moe..
