" Yep the company kiss azzes and Dave and his cronies"

Hey 700UW, the company doesn't know who I am. But I'll bet you
make sure the union knows who YOU are. Looking for a job if
we go down? You should disqualify yourself for a conflict of interest.
What are you talking about?

Sorry 700, let me clarify....

After reading many of your posts it seems you think those who agree
with your hard line stance have "cojones", and those that may disagree
are company "kiss azzes". My point is that if the company doesn't
even know I'm supporting their position, what good does it do me?
However, my guess is that you carry a lot of water for the union on
these boards and I would figure the union knows it, and one day, post-
U, you may be rewarded with a job at the union, if not already.
I've seen it happen so many times.

Hi fellow US Airways coworkers~

I rarely post on this board but do read it since we never
get information from our own company and when we do,
it's already old and outdated.

Wow, what is in the news scares me. I believe that we
need to make a stand, but by acting immature and say
"we will not even look at what he is asking for" is
just plain insane! This is our future and even though I
believe mgt is to blame for allowing it to get here, we
have to forget everything, stop living in the past and
take the time to analyze where we are TODAY. I have
thought for a few days, would my life be any better if
I took the stand "let it shut down" and the answer
right now is no. I live a good life, I don't make over 45,000
a year, but have a home and I can travel and overall the
job is very flexible. Have any of you taken the time to see
what is out there in terms of jobs? You better be willing
to work 10X harder, get dirty and maybe not even have
insurance. I don't mean to be negative but it's not pretty
out there.

As for Mr. Siegel, without him our doors would have been
closed a year ago, but the short term fix is not the answer.
My problem is his own team (middle-level) is old US Airways
where friends promote friends and the wrong people are in
positions of leadership. It's rampant throughout this company
and the lack of leadership is unbelievable. Mr. Siegel should
not have to communicate every piece of information to us, that
is what he has VP's / Directors etc. for and the one that oversees my functions
within the company has not bought into the "new US Airways"
not even 1%. They are failing Mr. Siegel and I can't believe
he has been here 18 months (?) and we still have the same
people in certain positions. I don't believe in naming names,
I believe we all know who they are, so why are they still here?
I will say the recent appointment of Donna to VP Customer Services
is a good one, she is an excellent leader that does just that,
she leads with a positive attitude. I wish her good luck and
hope she has the opportunity to make change.

I guess I am rambling but I am so fustrated by the attitude of
"shut it down" versus lets do what we have to do to make
this place the success it should be, THEN we have the ability
to say, "WE" made this happen, now it's time to pay us back.
How?

Livable wages/salarys
GOOD Mgt that wants to be Mgt.
A place we are proud to work
Opportunity to make a difference

It really is basic but we all have to stop, think about what we have,
what we could have and then make the decision.

Look at Mr. S's plan, then comment. Ask what does it do for
US over the long haul.

US has not been a forward thinking company.
Let's save this company, get to a position where
we can bargin, either by contract or by fair opportunity.

This is not meant to lecture or preach, but I wanted to offer another
view versus one where we discuss "the old days" in line at the
unemployment office or over the counter as we "check out" customers
at Wal-Mart (which btw I refuse to shop)

Please think about it, and then VOICE your concern. Demand to see
the plan so that you as an individual can make your decision
versus someone telling you what to think.

I am sure the folks at Eastern, Pan AM, Trans World would all love
to have had a crystal ball and I bet they would have done things
differently. Our crystal ball is showing us the future now, we
now have to choose our path.

Best to all of us, we could be a kick-aXX company if we worked
together.

Happy New Year! B)

Where's the plan???

Ignore the unions. There's to many non-union jobs at stake here to let some labor bureaucrats kill this company.

Bring us the road shows.
Post it as a company bulletin.
Put it on your weekly fireside chat.
Appear on Goodmorning America.

This is too important to be walled up by a bunch of wounded old times.

Um.... There is a plan, isn't there????

Hello????
Hello?????

Well IF there is a plan, we certianly all want to hear it.

But if the plan involves taking pay cuts or sacrificing fellow employees, then you can rest assured:

How much is Dave paying all these "newbies" to post his pro-company propaganda?

Wow, when did USAviation become so popular? At best I'd say there are about 70 regulars on here, with about half of them very regular posters. Where have all of these new folks come from? Has UsAv been advertising? Is the web address on a bathroom stall somewhere?

Wow, so glad all of these "lurkers" finally decided to post something. Duh <_<

This place (US Airways/CCY) never ceases to amaze me.

you may be rewarded with a job at the union, if not already.

Dcaf,
How familiar are you with the bylaws of the IAM? If you knew anything at all you would know jobs within the Union are AREN'T "awarded." In order to hold a position in the Union you must first be nominated by someone other than yourself at which time an election is held. If you receive the majority of the of votes only then do you became an officer in the Union, be it at the Local, District or International levels.

People do not have to be paid to disagree with your stand, they just need common sense. I guess you already have another job that pays just as well as the one you have now linned up? Starting over at another company does not appeal to me.

Full pay till the middle of May, see you at jiffy lube!

 Well, I have read all of your posts, and I have to say, most of you are just where Dave wants you to be , RUNNING SCARED !!! Dave is right where he was a few months ago, all gloom and doom. Dave , doesn't have a business plan, well, he does, it's actually you. He wants more money, benefits and quality of life issues, meaning you'll never go home to see your family, just work, work, work and for less. We, the employees, have a 41 year old CEO that is so far over his head, that he can't see straight. The reason , that he called off the road shows, is that he would have been booed off the stage. We gave him 2 billion dollars in concessions, how much more are you willing to give this man, just so you can say, I have a job. Don't you and your family, your spouse, your children deserve a better life. There is only one person making good money here and not worrying about tomorrows bills and that's Dave Siegel.

700UW...

In response to "how much I'm being paid by Dave" to spout my
pro-company propaganda, I'll admit to $10 a post, more if I can
make you use all capital letters in response.
I'm gonna get rich.

You're laughable.

I am not from CCY and I really wish these boards were
positive, now I know why I don't post, just more ammunition
for some to complain about things instead of how we can
save our jobs.

Best of luck to everyone, I am looking.

:(

Who What How and When was this monster of cynasism born....I think around the time Dave S came on board with his ingenious labor freindly sincerely Dave sham.

If Dave or management want anything their going to have to play nice. They will have to earn respect. Respect is earned by treating with your people in good faith. By not breaking deals, by being honest, by not stealing pensions and attempting to steal heavy maintenance work.
I truly don’t believe this team capable. The way to tell if their lying is if their lips are moving.

They may recognize the need to move on for the betterment of all.

If not they have a heavy load to haul up a steep hill in very little time to try to earn that respect They sure have been doing some serious bridge burning!!!

How do we save our jobs?
Shoulder to shoulder into the fray.

Smile, be friendly, let every customer know that we appreciate every them flying with us.

Your management thinks that your over paid? Smile.
Go the extra mile. Examine your habits an make sure you haven't fallen into a rut. Make sure your doing your job right.

Dave's Plan finally comes out and you, or your job group, are not included in it?
Have a good laugh, vote NO. Encourage your fellow workers, bring in pizza or candy for the gang. Let your co-workers know that you appreciate being able to work with them.

These and hundreds of other positive things are what's going to save our job.
After all, all of us have experienced that fact that "shrinking to profitability", is really shirking your prophet ability.

Now, let's all remind the robber barons one more time:
