Your lucky I am currently working on an O&D report for TOL. :) Here you go...

http://ostpxweb.dot.gov/aviation/index.html

Also...from a few sources, it seems TOL will be looking at CLT service on the dorks. PHL still up in the air. Guess we'll know more in a month or two.

Thanks for the link, but I still cant find the specific info I was looking for. I remember seeing a chart on some website the listed the TOTAL number of local passengers between 2 city pairs. I was going to try to look at this to see what cities might have enough LOCAL traffic to/from PIT to be possible candidates for service past Sept.

In the meantime, I did find some info on EAS service from PIT that was discussed here a while ago. From PIT, Mesa is showing service to MSS/OGS/ART with Air Midwest service to LNS/FKL and Colgan service to AOO/JST/SHD.
Colgan is showing service to BKW/BLF from PIT or IAD or CLT and Air Midwest from LWB from PIT or IAD or CLT.

I pulled down the 10% data for 2003 from BTS (OK, technically Q4 2002 and Q1-3 of 2003; Q42003 hadn't been published yet). It's huge; about 1.3GB. But, if you'd like, I can post the 2003 O&D info for PIT here. Just let me know how low to set the passenger bar.

Thanks. I was thinking anything that could handle an E70 a day with at least 1 flight a day each way?

OK, that'd be 58 pax/day at 80% LF, or 21,170 pax/year.

Here are the 34 markets and number of pax/year. Understand that these numbers represent the total market, and US isn't likely to have, say, 100% of the PIT-IAH market.

Thanks for the cities Mike. Add in a little connectivity for a couple more passengers per flight (on a minimal basis just because it will be a focus city and not a full blown hub) and these are probably the cities that PIT will have ER7 or larger flights from come Sept. Just a guess, but its probably fairly close to the list.

I hope that they dont just run A-PIT turnaround PIT-B flights. Offer more services with direct flights from A-PIT-B. People prefer to take a direct flight (after a nonstop) and dont like to change planes (even in PIT) if given the option. I hope the company uses this option to their advantage and offers lots of thru service, not just in PIT but on their other point to point routes as well.

BTS provides a very comprehensive but viciously unfriendly and slow database. Think of it as a graphic version of SQL. You just have to keep playing with it until you figure out how it works.

Or you could take a course in SQL. :)

You're welcome. You're probably right about it being close. I'd say that cities like DTW, IAH, and STL would be out because traffic would favor NW, CO, and AA, respectively, on those routes.

When will the Pit service be reduced? Is it going to happen in Sept. or Oct?

I realize that mainline flights will be reduced significantly, but what about the regional operation. Will the entire operation be moved to the "B" concourse?

Thanks
