Pilots not allowed to have enough fuel?

Well I MAY be young and inexperienced , but I’m at least not so STOOPID to take out a full page add destroying the flying publics trust in our airline ……

I think the add would leave a favorable impression that pilots are voicing their resolve to ensure adequate fuel is on board before they fly. If the company and pilot want to argue about how much fuel is needed I sorta think I will side with the one who will be on the plane with me.

Gee , it took me about 5 seconds of reading the full page add to realize it was going to erode the public’s trust in our company ….

Do you want that I should go and copy the ad and post it here ? I can show you line by line how a normal person would read it and I can EXPLAIN to you how it negatively effects public perception of our company ….

Your position is so weak it’s a joke . but hey , that’s what happens when you do stupid things and try to defend them by going “but , but but but…..â€
nurse - "But Doctor, we've already administered 500 cc of kool aid directly to the brain, we cannot in good conscience do any more"

Sure, why not? Should make for fine entertainment as I fire up the BBQ.

This post is double ROT-13 encrypted to abate the snoops in Tempe.

ANY doubt , ANY suspicion that could raise concerns about safety is enough to drive people away from flying …..

Remember what happened after 9/11 ??? people still have jitters to this day about flying …..

No , this “debate†if you want to call it should NEVER have been made public , yes yes you’ll say the pilots told the company they would do X if the company would do Y …. But the pilots should NEVER have put this option on the table , NEVER ….

I can only see it as USAPA having some sort of delusion that by fighting the company publicly they will somehow increase their “leverage†when it comes time to negotiate , but unfortunately someone’s forgotten to tell USAPA that there will be little to no negotiating on their part …

1. OIL
2. ECONOMY
3. AIRLINE INDUSTRY DYING .

Tender years, coupled with undisciplined minds, tend to render hasty judgements based upon "5 seconds of reading" Try reading at least the entire page in any future study efforts. Whatever your fantasies to the contrary...many passengers have voiced full support for the pilots on this issue, ..but they apparently did read the full copy, and actually pay to fly on the planes.

Your kidding right, or you don't have a cure about aviation, they have to be the dumbest questions on the board. Your right pilot are not gods, all we want to do is get you from A to B as safley as possible.

Thanks for proving my point. I was pointing out the stupidity of the pilots who are complaining about a one day training class that was in all likelihood justified, based on USAPA's press release.

I'm just amazed at how US is the only airline where this crap seems to happen (or at least happens in public) time and time again.

I give up. Pilots get way more days off than I and most of corporate America do.

Ah..I see now.......

Plus = "one day training class that was in all likelihood justified, based on USAPA's press release." So...in your opinion..a Union press release justifies "Training"? Why not just send those horrible pilots (with clearly too many days off) to some Workers' Party "Re-Education Camp" instead?

NOTHING that you've yet posted has anything to do with fuel management.

You might wish to put your pilot friend on here that was so concerned with the fuel issues.

Wow , what IS that , that you fly on ? do you fly in to PHX , can you bring me some …. That’s good to be some good #$% man!

That seems to be the point. There is NO doubt that the pilots at USAir will ensure sufficient fuel quantities on board before flight. They clearly won't accept that decision being dictated by bean counters living in ivory palaces as they prepare their quarterly reports for the stock holders.

NO doubt. The pilots maintain the authority to decide fuel loads.

But just incase you think the pilots are unreasonable, please note that they did acknowledge the company authority to determine the quantity of peanuts on board before flight.

Your entire argument is flawed …..

I can read right through you ….

Your simply trying to say “ we told you so Tempe , we’re serious “

And your mentality is just pathetic …. You waged your civil war for far too long , opportunity has passed you by COMPLETELY ….

There’s no money here to raise your wages , we may be returning to BK soon enough … grow a set and stop with the temper tantrums .

EDIT: hey don't get me wrong , i like the majority of our pilots , and i admire the way the EAST pilots rose up against all odds , an amazing feat that i belived you would attian from day one ... i'm just a realist .

Your entire argument is flawed …..

You haven't yet forwarded any constructed argument to counter...simply hysterical opinion...and it's my honest perception that you're merely some kid seeking attention. If not, then logically argue for your point of view...which I've yet to see any actual definition of.

You haven't yet forwarded any constructed argument yourself, and it's my honest perception that you're merely some kid seeking attention.

come now , is it REALLY necessary to point out the obvious ?

let's not kid ourselves here ... i think most of the posters on here know what this full page ad was REALLY about .....

come , what's so hard about telling the truth eh ? Why are you so hesitant to simply come out and say that the ad was a power play , just call it like it is .... what do you have to lose with honesty ?

No. I see no further need to do so. You'll have to find others to humor you any further.

i guess not , we live in different worlds ....

in your world that add you printed in no way made the public more wary to fly us , in fact it increased public trust and confidence in our company .. also in your world the company has money to give you a pay raise ....

in my world that ad you printed damaged the public's trust in an already battered company durining horrible econmic times ...therby shortening our chances of survival ....
also in my world , there's no money to give you a pay raise , and in another year we may very well be back in BK ....

we will just have to agree to disagree , have a nice day!
