Piedmont A/C in CLT

I was going to say that it looked more like the Pan Am blue as well. Being that I was former PI, I always thought that the logo on the tail was set up too high for some reason. I always thought that it would have looked better if it were lower, as it would have been centered more.

when the AL plane was repainted, it didn't take an additional airplane out of service, it just went back into the paint track. Having to repaint, just pushes back the painting of the "old" planes. Additional airplanes were not taken out of service to "repaint".

700UW stop criticizing the company for everything they do. Can you just be happy for once? Its a great idea that they are even doing this, and the liveries are very similar to the originals

Since your a LOVER of USAIRWAYS.......US-Airways lover......maybe you should go back in time and review the "heritage" of this airline and look at those past liveries and then you tell us what the planes should look like.

If you're (meaning Sandcastle) is going to spend the time and money to create a heritage line of planes, then friggin get it correct!

The only plane they didn't screw up was the HP livery. Boy they must have racked their brains to figure out how that plane should look ;) !

Similar doesn't cut it. Make them look like they did in their heyday.

I find it interesting that they didn't include the plane type under the logo in the tail, because they show it otherwise in the rendering.

Renderings of Heritage Planes

On another note, perhaps Tempe moved back the dedication date because they knew something would be wrong with it. It's too bad it has to be that way though.

One more thing. On the aircraft without the aircraft type beneath the speed bird logo the N number is on the tail. With the aircraft type (737-300, -400, and 767-200LR) the N number is below the cheat line. This aircraft N number should be on the tail.

Sorry but I have to agree with him this time. I think the Heritage Planes are a good idea but if they're not going to do it right then just leave it alone and don't do it at all. I think it's pretty ridiculous to spend all of this money and then it is obviously WAY OFF.

It would look great if they had used the correct paint color! It is the wrong shade of blue. I guess they didn't look at a picture first.

I think you're right. Wasn't Piedmont's color OSHA blue?

I think they thought they'd get in trouble (kinda). The rendering has "A-320" written in "Boeing" typeface (font). Only the 767, 737-300 and -400 had the aircraft type painted on the tail. I wish they had simply painted one of the Boeings that so desperately need repainting. The Airbuses paint is still in pretty good shape. The 757s are another story.

I realize this has already been said, but after what happened with the Allegheny logo and the PSA smile, you'd have thought they'd have really studied this and made sure it was spot-on the first time.

Very nice tribute to a great airline, but that blue is a bit off...kind of airforce blue in the pic.

The question is how much is it gonna cost and who will be held responsible?

I can't believe all of the "heritage planes' have been screwed up. You would think that somebody in authority would realize they weren't right before they released them for service.

Suggestion to US: post some pics of the planes here BEFORE they go into service. I'm sure we'll all let you know what we think! :D
