One Rude Agent

When I tried to use my SA1 the agent at the counter never bothered to put it in the priority list. So when I got to the gate and watched jr. employees get called ahead of me I knew something was up. With everybody being able to check the senority list,I don't understand why there are agents that feel that they are god and do things their way. When I got to the gate the agent was real indignent as to why I would question her. She told me there was only 2 seats left and did I want to split. I said I was confident that I had more senority than the 2 ahead of me that she had given seats to. I asked to see the senority list, sure enough the agent at the counter didn't list me as SA1. She said I never listed as SA1. Not so fast. I had her pull up my locater and as plain as day right in front of her was the listing showing SA1. What really P.O.'d her was she had to go and get the poor jr. employees off the plane. By the way it appears that when you don't get on your original listed flight and are rolled over to the next one, the SA1 doesn't always follow the listing. This happened to me at a different time. The SA1 is a good idea but not enough agents know how to correctly handle it or know nothing about it. Just go by senority/DOH and all is fair.

If you used the SA1 on the connecting flight , as it sounds like you did, you won't get a credit. Or If you used it on the return flight.

*laugh* I remember my first non-rev experience. I was a newb and I went to the airport to get my sister and her daughter on a flight back home.. lol.. for one thing, the ticket agent was frustrated because my listing was BOTCHED by reservations.. so it took her an hour to fix it. Not knowing it'd take an hour to fix, I didn't know that I had a different line I had to stand in as an employee. I felt bad that people behind me waited an hour. (Sh*t.. sorry for being a newb back in july)

Anyhow, this lady got more and more annoyed as the time went on trying to correct an error NOT MADE BY ME OR HER.. but someone in res.. and finally, she threw my sister's stuff on the belt.. it reverburated around the airport.. the sheer loudness of her slamming stuff down told me she was pissed.

Anyhow, yeah, PHX is lovely..

I always thought that there should be available an employee only computer at all stations. This way any employee can go check listing, boarding priority, seats left etc. This would be a way of keeping the gate agents honest. Sorry gate agents but there are a few bad apples out there ruining the non-rev experience for many.

Eliminate the SA1, go by your hire date. It's a dosgrace to be put behind someone with 2 years when you have 20 !

I cant wait for the Non rev policy to finally kick in company wide as First Come First Serve! It is the only way to provide a fair benefit to ALL employees! I am sure that the company is just waiting to get all the reservation systems lined up first before they make the Big announcement! Yeah!

You get the benefit of your DOH on pay day. Everything else should be FCFS.

Invest in the market, not your job. Too much to lose.

I too have had rude agents that don't follow procedures mostly in PHX by our agents (EAST SIDE). I was on an SA1 pass 1st on the list last on the plane, other non-revs in uniform were put ahead of me. When I asked the agent he gave no answer and asked "are you getting on". Watch out in PHX.
Just for the record, I have ALWAYS been nice to non revs and have ALWAYS adhered to the crireria of seniority. I can't imagine who you are talking about but the people I work with are extremely professional and want to help out their fellow non revs.

there used to be a nasty rude agent in the express section at phl though i cant remember her name but i would recognize her if i saw her. she has given myself and three other coworkers of my a rough time and yes even the rev pax as well. I told the CSS at my city about her and had her written up and the whole nine yards.

Perhaps you should have handedher this:

ohmigosh!!! I love that....I too have been rudely treated...and I try, try to remember how that feels everytime a non rev flies. I think the worst is when you are traveling and an employee who also is-but works in that city-gets behind the gate podium to see where she stands...and then you see all of them whispering...lol...I have flown east metal out of PHX and was not impressed...I was positive space business....oh well...I have also had some great experiences. MIA was a bad one...sat for hours while I watched parents ect get on before me...no matter what system we go to...I still believe active employees' should always go before parents/dependants traveling alone...we all know how hard it is to even non rev anymore and afterall, are we not the ones trying to make this airline work? Just my thoguhts....

Why on Earth would you show up at the airport for a NRSA flight without your company ID?
One suggestion,in the future when you fly make sure you have your company ID on your person so you can produce it on demand.
"Look at my travel profile" isn't what a harried agent at the gate wants to hear when she asks for ID.
Well, for one thing, it is not a requirement to have. Just because an agent demanded doesn't mean you have to produce it for NRSA travel. After all, I was ticketed, wasn't I?
A gov't issued photo ID is all that's required. I list on flights before I show up. If I show up and ask to be listed, that's different.

I think on the "west" side of things we have always been told to have it....things might have changed....I know I have to have when I travel PS2B for business related travel.
