Now Thety Want to Act Like a Union

Six months is too short... a lot of employees take six months to figure out what the job is. It's during the second six months where they start to figure out where and how they can slack off and get away with it.... 12 month probation might make that a little easier to nip in the bud.
In the particular instance of the crew chief I'm thinking about, even 10 years wouldn't be enough time as the supervision and management do not care to do anything to rock the boat and get them noticed by someone even higher up. They would prefer to let a good man transfer out before they would correct a major problem.

This is for the negotiators:

Your next proposal is already printed, the 2001 contract with an addendum:
1. 18.5% increase in base pay, as adjusted for for inflation
2. "Me Too" Clause
3. Maintain 2009 Medical Benefits & COSTS!
4. NO SEPARATION/ SPINOFF Clauses. An AMT is an AMT, either on the Line or at the Maintenance Base
5. AE ASMs will be CAPPED at 2008 levels!!!
6. Signing BONUS $15,000

Fellow Bloggers, PLEASE ADD YOUR DEMANDS!!
Roger that bravozulu@afw. I would go one further that is to get "retroactive pay language" in the contract. Something needs to be there to prevent them from dragging talks out indefinitely. My vote stays a firm NO until we are restored and get retro pay. Now the management defenders here will say thats unreasonable, fine. I say it is unreasonable to reward top executives while taking from your workforce. If they had truely "shared the pain share the gain" then MAYBE our stance would not be so hardcore.
A great big thank you to Jim Little for getting my day started with a laugh. Man o man that letter is priceless. The whole crew was having a good laugh over that, and you got a new slogan too !!! Way to go................................GO AMP !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jim Little has come out with some changes to the negotiating committee before getting back together with AA later this month. The surveys for local 514 are due back by the third. This will give our local time to review and list by priority the recommendations from the membership. Jim Little is correct! Now is not the time to get distracted by outside and inside influences. Be firm and tell these individuals who are trying to destroy our profession from within to get lost.

I want to thank Jim Little for coming to Tulsa and talking with the shop stewards and now standing firm on his commitment to make changes.

Wow Jim Little is going to now allow two committee members to meet with the company and the NMB. Now that is chage you can beleive in. Why not allow the Committee to decide the make-up of the strategy? And Jim Little stay the hell out of the way?

Oh and don't forget we now have a new slogan:
"We Move America"

Get the t-shirts printed boys and bring out the trailer with a coffin on it.
We are about to show the company our real power now.

Doesn't seem funny that the only time Jim comes around is when someone is looking to take money out of his pockets and only then is he willing to change. if you ask me this is just a smoke screen but it is nice to see them admit that the ATD was doing the negoiations now we can vote to have one of the presidents help. I wonder if it will be a roll call to decide which one it will be?

Make all the changes you want jim but remember NO VOTE NO PEACE!!!

The committee member should be Bob Owens.

Retro back to 2008

Start there if they say NO then ask to be released why waste our time.

This company should not be allowed to get away with a 2-3 year negotiation process without retro. This is now an 8 year contract with no raise. This is called Unionism ? ? ?

Regardless of what little jimmy or any other twu minions say these bums have to go sign an AMP card and lets have an election to see how the members feel. My bet is they have had enough of the ATD making six figures and enough of the concessionery contracts year after year.

Let's be honest here. You guys who are working so hard for AMP and making comments on here. Are they paying you to do that? TWU has gone beyond where I thought they would go with the strike authorization, and still some of you are not happy.

Now don't get me wrong. I have no special love for TWU. But as I have said before, I don't see what AMP is going to do for us that TWU isn't.

How about no more lifetime appointments?
How about having PROFESSIONALS negotiate for you?
How about no more $100,000.00 a year secretaries?
How about the entire union leadership taking the same pay and benefits cuts we all took?...Just to name a few....

You have no special love for the TWU????????????
Your posts prove otherwise.

And your union had nothing to do with the fact this is a 2-3 year process?... Please. Both sides dragged this out.

I know you don't care about economic reality, but you guys exchanged openers in Nov 2007, which is when oil started hitting $80/bbl. Then the sub-prime mortgage crash hit, Obummer got elected, and the economy stayed in the crapper. You hung Conley out to dry for telling the truth about the possibility of negotiating meaningful wage increase when there is record unemployment and record foreclosure rates...

View attachment 8822

Interestingly, both sides seemed to get busy coming to an agreement when oil prices stabilized... Why is that?

I'm not going to waste my time doing this, but I'd be curious to know what was gained in the last TA versus the openers that were exchanged.

How much "negotiating" was really going on, and how was just posturing/kabuki theater?

Well since the guys who started AMP are the same guys who are pushing AMP where would we get the money to pay ourselves. there is no current AMP union anywhere else. This why the TWU {and I know it's killing them} cannot call this a raid, there is no outside group inplay this is a revolt plain and simple and that is one of the reasons we did not run another AMFA drive. they would have called it a raid.
