Who are you to speak for the membership?

What membership? A few little hijackers?

Who are you to apologize for me?

Don't take offense. Well actually go ahead. I don't really care.

I can speak for myself.

You learn the basics in Kindergarten. So congratulations on a job well done.

I make no apologies.

Who exactly is that supposed to bother?

I said EXACTLY what I intended to say.

CONGRATULATIONS.   You're an impressive fellow.

Let's see if you can possibly understand this? I was told about this issue by the MOD the day "Before" this thread was started. And I posted what he had told me "After" the reactionary thread had already started.

It shouldn't take a degree to figure that out? Or?
I am not debating the chronological order of the events.

Let me clarify my previous statement. Did you actively "react" to what your supervisor said and come on here with the intention of spreading the information (before) or did you passively "react" to a thread that was already in place that you had unconfirmed information for (after).

I am making a statement that I believe that you actively reacted to what your supervisor said (however the thread had already been started), yet your accusing others of "reacting" to the news before getting written confirmation (pot meet kettle).

I will admit the way I asked the question could have been better and more detailed.

Did that clarify it any?

You made note that you were a "UNION" guy and took it upon yourself to apologize for a UNION member hijacking the thread. You placed yourself as the voice of the membership when you did that. My answer to that is I do not care if they employee is UNION or not. No employee should have to take this crap from American Airlines.  The comments I made about the contract was that UNION employees should not feel comfortable with this behavior because they feel they are contract protected. I had shown how in the past the contract had not been enforced. My comments were in no way a complaint... just a cautionary statement of complacency.

How about in the future you speak for you and I will speak for me. If I recall correctly I did not vote for you to represent me. As far as I know you are not even a UNION officer.

Thank you.

It is not supposed to "bother" anyone. That is me speaking for MYSELF as opposed to letting you apologize on my behalf.

I already have a leg up on 95 percent of the politicians. Thank you for your recognition.

Yes.

I would like to ask.... what about people that do not use doctors for religious reasons?  They may use time they have banked when they are very ill, yet short term disability would most likely require a doctor visit to start.

I know to some this may be an off the wall question but I personally know a family that does not use doctors (they do not work for American Airlines however). This sort of scenario would potentially be very damaging to them. Let's keep in mind we are not talking about people that abuse sick time, we are talking about people that have banked MASSIVE amounts of sick time because they NEVER USE IT. Why would you alienate someone that has demonstrated good attendance and loyalty to the company?

By the way thanks for getting my name right. :)

I think you're talking about the Seventh Day Adventists? It's a bit of a stab there. Remember AA is still a private company and if they suspect sick time abuse they do put people on a 90 day doctors note which requires you to see a doctor. Someone with that Religious affiliation would probably have to litigate it? Do they believe in lawyers or lawsuits though?

It can also be argued that they are not taking the bank away from anyone just changing the method in which it can be used and payed out.

And I copied and pasted your name which made it easier.

OMG! You folks who are both defending and arguing against the TWU come up with some crazy chit!
Both the AMFA vote and TWU/IAM vote cannot come soon enough. And you know what, this crazy chit will continue regardless of the vote outcome!!

Does US Fleet and their MX go at it like this under the IAM? Something tells me NO!

Why not? American doesn't care about employee morale. They never have since I worked there (20 yrs). Hey in their defense it works for them.

I have nothing to say. Your logic is flawless.

I dislike your answer but I can't fault it...... I wish I could.

Yet, liberals manage to suspend logic and deny evidence at a whim.
You mean like Saddam's "weapons of mass destruction" and how the Iraqi's attacked us on 9-11?

Why would they? If their planes go out the same whether you are happy and well paid or miserable and poorly paid why would they care?

Nothing is more annoying than irrefutable logic backed by abundant, undeniable evidence.
I find myself continually facing the very same environment, Jim.

just be something about human nature. :)
