No More Pretzels

Agreed, I got furloughed..the ultimate price...I'm just now coming back to the property.

You're correct, several 330-200's on the way (17, I think) and some 321's this year. 3 West and 2 East.

Our operational stats are doing very well...I think number 1 for the 1Q....thats very good. I also agree that the domestic game is one of survival, and even WN is going to feel pain as the fuel hedge goes away...

I hope domestically we hang on just as we are, (can't hope for better) and we make great and WELL THOUGHT OUT strides on the INT'L front.

So are today's current fuel prices. Maybe your tiff is with current politicians, or is it solely USAir?

Next....

Don't hate the playas...hate the game :)

I'm miffed at the foreign politics occurring...although we might have incompetent politicians because they are not the statesman we thought they were :)

I don't hate USAir I loved USAir too bad this isn't USAir it's America West Airlines in drag as US Airways Inc. ;)

You know , sometimes you think life is beginning to look up (like that huge raise I just got ) but then , then at the end of another long grueling day you come home , log on to us aviation and you read things like this thread…

This is like getting punched in the gut … I , I can’t describe my emotions right now … tears are literally running down my cheeks … how will countless , overweight and obese Americans survive their long plane rides ? YOUR GOING TO HAVE PEOPLE EATING ONE ANOTHER MIDFLIGHT when the hunger becomes too much to bear !!!! I can just see the flight attendants cowering in the rest rooms so as not to be devoured ….

Oh the horror , the horror!!

If they would just arm the flight attendants that would solve that problem.

Uhh...don't you fly Beeches for Air Midwest *oh snap* they went down under...So you got rehired as a Rampie now for Mesa out in Tuppelo? Har Har! Ok YVIntern needs to go back and finish grilling the steaks that he bought with his $$$ that US Airways Inc (HP in Drag) won't be getting.

Raise...What Raise.... Hah,you guys just took a paycut and don't know it yet........better save some pretzels off the RON.s...

Here's a theory. Sometimes if I don't have time to eat I will eat pretzels for breakfast, lunch, and/or dinner. I'm sure others do the same. So, if they eliminate food from the aircraft, maybe it will stop some of our f/as from eating all those carbs so hopefully they will be able to fit in the jumpseat! OK, so my theory is flawed. This has nothing to do with US Airways' wellness plan, but it was a nice thought. :p

Darn right the corporation is redefining the price of everything! They should have done this a long time ago! You see, for the fiftieth time, airlines are not able to charge enough to cover the cost of current daily operations, as they once could.

In 2007 I paid $0.97 per mile to fly US, that was over 100,000 miles. With those prices it should beenough to cover their operation.

Maybe you missed that press release? Are they maybe concerned about their "strong" balance sheet? Gosh, I hate when CO nickel and dimes me. Come on....

HAY GURL!
CO does not charge people traveling on a Y-class ticket. CO recognizes that people who buy expensive tickets should not be nickel and dimed.

Ok this whole pretzel thing is just crazy. Clue had issues with my question of why airlines are held to different standards than the bus or train. NOTHING he had to say made reason for why airlines are held to a different standard. Anyhow it's DONE and they are going. With fuel where it is I see other airlines cutting offerings in the coach cabin. It may not be the SAME thing or be as SOON but rest assured it WILL happen. It's impossible to think otherwise unless they get the man berries and hike the fares.

...you said ' man berries"....;)

I only hope some of these CEO's can answer the call.....

I honestly do not care whether I receive a free bag of mini pretzels or one tiny Biscoff. However, are they going to replace the free snack with one customers can purchase on short-haul flights? I do not mind having the option to buy a snack.

What concerns me more is that cutting free coach snacks is not going to solve the greater issues that this company is facing. The product is transportation and the fares should be more reflective of the current economic times.

Don't you mean a SA4? Shannon I spend about $10 on Gas to get to/from the Airport...now if we're talking JetFuel it doesn't hurt US in any way in fact they are making more $ than flying that seat out empty...Don't criticize me for saying this but US is one CHEAP BA$TARD :) I don't have a problem with the pretzels being removed I have a problem with the MESSAGE they sent...

"Oh it's so freaking cheap $0.03"

(Few Months Later)

"Oh it's so freaking expensive $0.03 we need to stop serving them in the main cabin"

It's Bulls**t ;)
You're not an SA4 til the computer says you are, and if you're flying around SA ANYTHING you're still NON REV and therefore have no right trashing MY airline. Not yours.

If trash talking makes you feel like part of the family, I suggest you find a backup airline before your bridges are burnt.
