No Free Coffee on US Airways

Which base are you in? I ask because there was support in at least one crew room.

The making of change seems to be of more difficulty for you than the rest of us.

Depending on A/C the level off announcements(either on tape or from written material)delivers the correct prices for both meals and beverages.

No one suggests you get it over in 10 minutes-take as long as necessary(and then do it again).

Besides disliking the amount of BOB ordered, the appearance of simple addition on the liquor form, lack of a bank(other then the one supplied for BOB), people asking for H2O and a general "irritability" of PAX on your flight does not seem to counter that people are willing to pay for inflight beverages-perhaps it wasn't the drinks-we know how old school can be.

No personal info.
No debates,
Just stating FACTS.
I'm delighted that other f/a's had no problems, I had no riots but some unhappy passengers-more than usual.

Personally, IF I were to fly US (and that's a big if), I'd buy a honkin' big bottle in the airport, where it will at least start out cold, and I can pay for it with my Amex card. Why US rolled this thing out before figuring out how to pay with a credit card is beyond me.

Oh, wait, that would have been too convenient for the customers and the crew and wouldn't have been in keeping with their M.O. of "Fire! oops. Aim!. Oh, hey, are you ready yet?"

And this business in the NY Times of publicly saying the charge would be waived if pax gave guff about the fee? That's just plain crazy. It's giving customers license to argue.

It makes me sad that my airline is so FUBAR by this merger and the boobs in Tempe. I still have lots and lots of friends who work there, and I want to be supportive by throwing my travel $$$ their way, but Tempe makes it impossible to do so. I'm paying for tickets now, rather than getting them for free, and I'm not going to spend my hard earned money on a piece of crap. Sorry.

And while we're on the subject of bottled water...

In Winston-Salem, where I live, they have this stuff called "Simply Winston Water." It's bottled water, and right there on the label, it says "This is good old City of Winston-Salem tap water. It tastes great (which it does). Drink it, then refill it with some more of our city's water, and put it back in the fridge so you can reuse the bottle tomorrow and keep it out of the landfill."

What a great idea.

If today was any indication-follow the money.
my experience today--amazingly unlike any of the koolaid drinkers--was that of abject disgust towards our airline!! if i had the $2 for every pax who assured us that they would never fly usairways again, i would be a rich woman!! these sentiments will continue to be present the next time these people book a ticket. the crewrooms were abuzz with stories of irate pax...i guess listening and believing is a choice...

"follow the money"?? isn't that what one of you koolaid drinkers said about the dl "merger", i mean hostile takeover?!?!?!?

oh pinnacle of wisdom and representative experience: wasn't it you that predicted that all other majors would follow LCC's lead with selling drinks?
Thx for the compliment, hun. Never said drinks per se, but spoke to the "a la carte" items in general (now DL charges *MORE* for a 2nd bag, and US now matches NW and much of AA's lack of IFE.. stay tuned.....)....

It is clearly driving some people *nuts* on here that this charging was really no big deal whatsoever!

Give the OA's time.......... $$$$

No, it is up to the cockamie brainiacs to provide a change bank,
and definately not the end of story.

This is just another erosion of the flight attendant position.

Granted, I am old school but I am not out to get a service over with in 10 minutes.
My career has been to tend the safety and comfort of my passengers,
not being a trash collector, cabin cleaner, soft drink concessionaire or banker.
U need a change bank for $2 drinks? I had no problem finding change for drinks on 4 321 flights today.... People were more than willing to make change on the 1 flight i needed to find it... the rest paid with mostly 5's and 1's...

Again, pretty drama free......

Hmm. sad... maybe u reap what u sow? Again, had no drama, no whining, no complaints, and I am far from a mgmt shill. Koolaid...

I had lotsa $2 from pax, Preferred included, and not one gave me any sort of trouble. Spent about 20 minutes per flight in the aisle, and it was really no biggie.

Sorry, wish it was as horrid as all predicted, but the pax unrest simply was not there....

Not making it up. Thought I mentioned in the OP that I recieved it just a while back. I believe it to be true as I know who sent it. I have no proof.

I'm pretty certain the policy was misunderstood as when has the TACB ever provided clear concise instructions?

I think you'll see a marked difference between flights out west to the ones on the east coast.
I think for sure there will be a HUGE difference between east and west flights. Bob, my guess is this was PHL or LGA to PBI or FLL. Anyone who hasn't experienced a PBI or FLL flight needs to take one to experience it. People are SOOOO nasty. I like it though, because I never have to bring entertainmet. People watching is enough fun to keep me occupied for the 2 hrs...
