New TWU president talks tough against DOJ lawsuit, American Airlines layoffs, industry outsourcing

No I did not forget the SERP. That was BS but Corp America does that crap everyday to the working people and regulators let it happen.
And your TWU agree to allow this crap to happen. Past history has proven this. Keep posting DA...

American 25.72% Delta 41.26% United 47.33% US Airways 56.49% Southwest 60.79% jetBlue 66.35% Alaska 52.13%

That number for american of 25.72% is slight of hand as always. That does not include work farmed out in LHR, South America, and outsourced In flight entertainment we used to do. The masters of manipulation make everything look great like Hewitt did for selling Tulsa this last contract!

So then you are convinced we should have just let AA filed BK in 2003, push the judge to rule, and then most likely end up like UA, US, or DL? Go to 45% outsourcing? That's the industry average which is higher than the 35% AA is capped at now under the TWU CBA. The main reason TUL will shrink over the coming years is new aircraft and lower maintenance requirements not scope language.

Was this explained to Tulsa before voting on the contract? Did Tulsa realize they would shrink? They were sold on manipulation to get them to vote yes not what it really was. The TWU sold out Tulsa not the line as Overspeed always tries to say. If Tulsa was told they would shrink year over year do you think they would have voted 76% yes? Again who sold out Tulsa...........?

Overpseed:

A TWU win is telling the company we will take what ever they give knowing full well they will lose thousands of jobs, pay, our pension, retiree medical, and allow a contract full of company language.

Just to be perfectly clear

Read your own post. If the work is going down due to new aircraft then what work will be outsourced? If there is no HC there is no HC to outsource. There will be LCs and Phase Checks as well as mods. So work load was dropping regardless of scope clause langauge. It will drop a bit more but when you are not outsourcing $1B for overhauls then your OSS spend drops $350M.
What a web you spin......... The bottom line is Tulsa numbers are dropping and now layoffs are on the horizon for Tulsa so spin away but the bottom line is the same. This is not how it was explained to the Tulsa members.

There is no explaination from Overspeed or anyone from the ATD that affirms our concessions as being good for the union. Lowering the bar for the industry is not unionism! The ATD is good at deflecting blame but they do not take any responsibility as to the outcome of the worst contract in the industry and possibly the worst concessions ever in the history of Aviation. so sad isn't it

we should be proud that they will use our concessionary contract as the standard for negotiations going forward.

OUCH! Non AFL-CIO class and craft union perhaps.....
AMFA seems to fit the same profile.
January 2014 we should get things going again.
Bingo!!!! But to be totally fair to O, and the TWU, in the end, it was the membership that voted for this last contract! They were duped, but they bought it!

Your numbers and percentiles are completely wrong. Carry on...
You can do math right? Here is the 2012 DOT F41 financial data. The 2013 is online at the BTS website. Prove me wrong by doing the math and use the facts.

Chuck at most AA has 200 people working on AA aircraft doing work. That's maybe $25M or less than 0.01% change. While important that it is not shown, it does not move the number hardly at all.

Making people there is sleight of hand here is another AMFA deception tactic. The difference between AA and SW outsourcing is more than 35% more is spent on outsourcing at SW compared to AA.

I'm not sure what was said to TUL. I don't work there but to the point that we should have fought AA in court because we would have gotten better is BS. The difference between the Ask and the TA was about 2,000 more jobs being shipped out directly due to outsourcing. The majority of additional HC loss at TUL will be driven by new aircraft and would have happened on top of the 4000 that were cut under the Ask.

I would definitely say you were willing to sell out TUL to get your geo-pay
