New TWU president talks tough against DOJ lawsuit, American Airlines layoffs, industry outsourcing

We/You gave away the half the farm to prevent BK, then gave the other half away once BK happened. Nice prevention and planning.
So then you are convinced we should have just let AA filed BK in 2003, push the judge to rule, and then most likely end up like UA, US, or DL? Go to 45% outsourcing? That's the industry average which is higher than the 35% AA is capped at now under the TWU CBA. The main reason TUL will shrink over the coming years is new aircraft and lower maintenance requirements not scope language.

What Scope? AA is not going to keep people around if there is no work to be performed. Hence the outsourcing and new aircraft.

Nice try again overspeed. The 35% at AA is of maint spend, NOT 35% of total maint done. Which will become a lot more than the 45% @ UA, US, or DL. You need to read and understand the verbage more closely. Haha, keep posting, your doing fine...

"The main reason TUL will shrink over the coming years is new aircraft and lower maintenance requirements not scope language." Keep telling yourself that. You are the only one (from the TWU international) claiming this. Good god you are way off base, get a clue...

What he is failing to say is that the 35% is of spend, or cost for maint. Which these are numbers and/or percentiles that the company can influence as they wish. What an idiot he continues to look like...

At US they can outsource 50% of heavy maintenance billable hours, no line functions nor checks can be outsourced.

Just wait if this association thing goes through. That outsource will change because I am sure as the culture at AA is to cut deals.

No it wont change as US and the IAM will have their own CBA, so nothing can change till its negotiated for a JCBA and the IAM is the head of the alliance for the first two years if it is approved.

Don't bet on it when the TWU and AA are working together.
