There not going to keep that many either way so let's go for pay and benefits this time around no more consesions for the lie the twu tells Tulsa there saving jobs we all know how that goes the jobs went and we took consesions
If the company, is looking at the agreement from a "how many can we get rid of?" pov, that would explain whats taking so long to get to the table. Just a WAG

IF you are one of us though, sorry. Just don't dig all those NEGATIVE vibes man. You're ruining my zen here.
Sorry to screw with your head I just dont think you're being realistic and in the end you will see you wont be getting what you want, no way.

What does that have to do with AMFA?                Nothing.....
About as much as Maintenance has to do with Fleet Service?

One of your guys was nice enough to change the oil on my car for me the other day. He wanted to pay me back for something I did for him. He said my filter was caked to death.

Anyway just commenting that it was a nice gesture on his part.

AMFAinMIAMI,
Actually we have closer to 10,000 AMTs (7,600 Title I plus US equivalent of 2,300) unless you were including TItle 2 in your HC number. Actually AA/US now has fewer AMTs per aircraft than UA. AA/US at 10.3 and UA at 11.4 per aircraft. AA/US would have 1,000 more AMTs if we had UA's ratio. Parker is getting TWU/AA labor cheaper per hour and total AMTs. At $45/hour that's an ~$90M annual savings with no scope changes.

You're right. My apologies.

Let's continue.

That horrible TWU is going to screw us something fierce. Darn criminals.
About time you saw the light.

Oh no. I've always been aware that those gals at Texas Woman's University were money hungry crooks. Yea they try to entice you with those ample bosoms and long blond hair. But that smile they give you with those twangy voices just is a dead giveaway. Gold diggers all. And those eyes. They're stunning but cold and calculating. All a bunch of future Stepford Wives looking to entice you with their ability to cook warm bisquits.

I know a few guys back there who got snared in their web. I swear I think they're all a bunch of thieving robots.

I'm older as well now too. I'm not necessarily saying that I disagree with you. But in my group it could be that the less of us there are, the easier it "could" be to replace us all in the future.

I like just a little bit of balance for Fleet.

But just to add if the price of getting every job we ever performed back meant complete stagnation in my wages. I would vote no.
Whats this, you're going against the union mantra ? You know more dues more dues.... Well Weaaz  i got to go wait 20 minutes for the employee bus. I couldn't do that if I was a manager

Not just delta plus 7 but double time back 10 holidays 2.5 times. No more half days sick pay on first day . Delta has floating holidays . Company needs to pay our insurance increases so our raiseses are real not diluted . Delta gets 56 hours a year for sick time are personnel time as needed either you can roll over what's left year to year are get payed the leftover.

What are you surprised about?
LOA's and/or side letters have always trumped contract language.
That's one of the reasons we kicked out the iam.
B) xUT
So why did they kick out AMFA too?

WeAAsles said:
I doubt that the Pilots would have been stupid enough to have any language in their contract that would produce a carve out of any benefits they currently have.
You obviously have no clue what you are talking about. The pilots are not stupid. The language speaks for itself, read it before you spout off at the mouth...

I'm not the one who posed the question can the pilots be hoodwinked out of their Profit Sharing in exchange for the "Me Too" clause being triggered.

That would be you.

C'mon THINK about your question.

I was counting in all who would be eligible to have a say whether this JCBA would pass for maintenance. Not sure if the numbers are just Lic. AMT's at UAL/Delta or not. My point was that if AA & DP are looking at giving us the money as they have said and if we ALL In Maintenance don't think that there is going to be some trade off we would again be hoodwinked.

Nothing to do with AMFA or stores or fleet, what ever happens there will be on them. What they get or want is NOT MY Concern it does not effect me. If they become the highest Paid then good for those work groups.

You know very well that there are those who work the ramp/fleet/stores or that are not even employees any longer who will call us the AMT's elitist. As stations get closed for maintenance, work gets moved  to streamline operations there will be some reductions.

Getting guys to look at the numbers and not just the $$$$$ will help I HOPE.

Because the average age at American is over 50 and higher at USAIR many will go for the money. Priorities change as you get close to retirement. Show me the money will allow us to make more on overtime and max out our 401K. Unfortunately for the guys in the loser IAMPF pension plan the contributions are the same. The UsAir guys have more of a reason to go for the money. I can't blame anyone for going that route. I would do the same. Some guys are better off working than taking a package if one will be available. This depends on age, the amount of compensation of a early out and the amount of debt one has accumulated. So show me the money is a strong selling point at this point of our careers.

The only time that anyone I know in Fleet calls any of you guys elitists is when you thumb your nose at us. When your guys think we're overpaid and if we made less then you could have more. Jobs or money is your decision to make? TUL carried the voting majority at one time so of course they voted to keep jobs. The scales are different now so it's up to you how you vote on that one?

I make far less per hour than you guys as I SHOULD of course. You went to school, you put in those long hours on nights. I have ZERO problem with how much you EARN. Just as long as your group doesn't say that I should earn less (For whatever reason you feel like getting involved in MY business)

And that wasn't directed at you AMFAinMIAMI. For the most part you've been fairly cool about that sort of thing.
