More AMT's on the way

That's good news. I suspect the company will be going to the street for new hires before long with the way they are speeding through the recall list. Good luck to those who choose to return. I think it will be needed. After all, the only thing that is guaranteed working for any airline is a layoff.

I have known this has been the case for quite sometime now. LAX has recently started recalling and SFO has been recalling for several months now.

MCO and SAN can also be added to the list of stations that have exhausted their recalls. ORD os recalling as well. Although I think that's due to people being recalled to LAX and SFO.

You are correct. That is indeed the case with ORD. SFO is recalling more because in the just recalled group there also has recall rights to LAX. I had recall rights to both LAX and SFO, declined both of them.

I think it's great that AA is recalling AMT's. Only one problem though. The last time AA recalled AMT's,we got the 1995 contract six year special.

While I agree with your logic, it's difficult to see where 250 people will make a difference in selling another POS to the membership. Far more likely is attrition replacements as I really don't see the workload that would justify the additional people for our (mis)management.

I have to agree with you. But I just could not get passed a uneasy feeling about this recall. Just one reason I chose not to return.

I had forgotten about the last 2 contracts' slim passing margins but ... I still think it will take much more than 250 voting 'yes' to sway the outcome to the twu/company's favor. People are pissed - I've heard stalwart TWU supporters questioning the actions of their darling 'union'.

I believe you and I had this conversation before re: how the company will get what it wants; at this point, I feel the people are mad enough that not even the company's pet union can make much of a difference with the standard scare tactics as before. It's going to take something else, hopefully. That's why I continue to think a buyout/earlyout is in the offing but not until at least the first TA has been voted down, possibly the second or third POS TA.

Full restoration to the pre-concession contract will get some consideration, though not necessarily a yes vote from me. Anything else will get a well deserved NO.
