It has come to my attention that the company will be filing temporary emergency relief motion on Monday to impose paycuts and what else who knows.

Is that a big surprise? Did you think this would all go away if we wished it so.

This would be funny, if it were not so sad & serious....

Good luck to us all, we will need it (and we deserve this at this point, we should have all struck deals).

A very highly placed source.

And maybe you deserve it, I am not a six figured paid employee. Many of us regular ground workers are just trying to survive.

That isnt doomsday for US air. There is a tomorrow at US after that happens. Doomsday for US Air is when they start selling big chunks of the company or do an instant shutdown.

Is it me, or has someone lost it? 700 you tout "just the facts" and nail 320 all the time for this same thing. What gives with that ?

UYH,

Yea, its coming and it will be in line with the co. last proposal...so you will be right in line as if you VOTED YES.

Golly gee 799, I thought they had to negotiate for 30 days? Lets do the math by the wording of Section 1113. File on Monday, schedule a hearing 14 days out, that would be Monday the fourth. The judge rules within 30 days, tha tmake Wednesday, November 3 the date all the contracts get tossed out. ALPA will accept whatever is handed to them, as will most likely AFA. The IAM could try and strike, but all heavy mtc would get farmed out and we seem to be so management heavy they could do line work. Even better, what are the odds a company starts getting third party mechanics certified to do line work like daily checks in secret while waiting for the judge to rule?

Apparently you did not read section 1113e which is a emergency temporary relief, which transpired at UAL with the M&R group had a temporary paycut imposed to keep them in-line with the other groups who had all ready sacrificed.

Glad you are not a real lawyer cause you do not know the code.

Section 1113 (e) allows a debtor to ask the court for temporary or interim relief on an emergency basis. The Company must show that the changes sought are “essential to the continuation of the debtor’s businessâ€￾ or needed “to avoid irreparable damageâ€￾ to the Company.

Can you understand that F. Lee Bailey?

BTW, do you know the directions to your local unemployment office when the temp relief is granted?

temp relief is for wages, not jobs, and don't worry about me I will be just fine. Thanks anyone. Guess you know the web page since you are seperated from US after 9/11 and have not been interviewed to get back.

I have a question for someone to answer. Just how long can this "temporary" relief be? I have yet to find an answer to that question.

Till a new agreement is reached or the contract is abrogated, I would suspect.

The UAL one was for 13 weeks.

Wrong again.

The 1113e filing is the info I got yesterday, and there is talk the cuts will be retroactive - how far, I don't know, but am guessing the current pay period.
