Mechanics vote

From listening to the discussions Doug had with the AWA mechanics they being the company felt the IAM contract will be the prevailing contract and the IAM will be the prevailing union. Appears they being the company are waiting for a ruling on single carrier status. Doug even made a statement about all the work coming back in house under the IAM agreement. I didn't hear one question from anybody about bringing work inhouse just bashing US East guys and wanting more money. If you get a chance all mechanic and related should listen to Audio web cast on the hub with the mechanics and Doug Parker. Just mainly bitching and moaning about no raises. There was mention of the IBT trying to collect enough cards for an election and the company not giving address because of an IAM objection not sure what that was all about but for what its worth in my opinion the company is hoping the IAM prevails. One guy made the comment he wouldnt be around if the IAM takes over he would quit, well those same statments were made over taking paycuts at U East during bankruptcy and those guys are still there. Just remember talks cheap!!

The Company has no business interfering with the election process of either union whether by retorhic or action.

There was two meetings on the same day with Parker - only one was webcast, and there was discussions about work coming back in house.

Parker and Hemmingway have been sticking thier nose in the process.

Well Airwoman,

I have to scratch my head for a second...if you are not in a union, do you have the ability of a vote for either union?

What is your capacity or can't you say? B)
I, nor do any of my current non union counterparts, know whether or not we will have the ability to vote. As I said, we are in a vacuum and are requesting information from both sides.

Airwoman,

IF you PM me your job I can let you know if it is in the IAM/CBA as a classification and let you know if you will be put under the CBA.

Pit you should read your earlier post. Maybe she does'nt want to out herself, or is that only if you are 700 that you must remain secret??

Airwoman,

why don't you post, straight from the " official" contract what is covered by position.

There are numerous classifictions covered.

I have all ready recieved a PM from another poster and sent that person the job description, they are all long to type so I do not want to type out every single one, only on a case by case basis.

Excuses, Excuses, it seems you type out what you need for a point you are trying to make, but not answer any questions. Honestly. Are you still employed with the company, or are you furloughed???

It is not an excuse, if someone on the west side wants to know if they will fall under the IAM/CBA they can PM me.

If you don't like it too bad.

700,
I am shocked.

I have been very, very clear in my postings that the possibility exists of being acreeded into the union. And I had done my homework before coming to that conclusion and making that statement. And that homework was done based on the posted copy of the contract. Based on your previous statements, the posted copy is accurate except for some minor details which do not truly alter the content of the contract. And I still stand by my statement that the possibility exists based on the language and definitions of the contract.

I did use the link you provided to the IAM website. I spent quite some time reading the information posted there regarding the merger and the union activity. I have also read the IBT web page. The information is nearly opposite.

So the best advice I can give to myself, is to obtain valid copies of both contracts and make my own judgements based on my conclusions and my conclusions alone.

If you PM me your classification I can tell you yes or no, not just a possibility, the answers are cut and dry.
