700, Have you had the chance to listen to the Open discussion between Parker and the US west mechanics, [on the hub?]

If the IBT were to win the election, They would have the option to start with the existing IAM contract and change some of the terms for the better. [As long as the monetary amount does not cost the company more]. At least thats what Parker said.

I guess you could call that a transition agreement..

And this is a question brought forward from Post #164. I would really appreciate an answer, please. And if you don't know, just please say so.

So now PLEASE answer my question. What contact, factual information can I, as a possible future union member, expect to receive from the IAM???

Hope you had a chance to listen.........sounds like a transition agreement. And yes, I guess the cornerstone would be the current IAM contract with the transition agreement added.

Well since you are not a union member at HP, I doubt the IAM would send you anything.

If you are accreded you would get a copy of the contract and be able to attend union meetings and ask any info that you would like to know.

I am really disappointed by that. The IBT and it's representatives have been more than willing to share information even though myself, and many others are not currently union members.

I'm sorry but this raises another question. If there is a vote for union representation and the current non union members are eligible to vote, will the IAM then put forth information so that a vote would be on based on facts?? Or is the available contract actually accurate?

The IAM doesn't give it's members information,so their not going to tell non members any thing. They belive the membership should be treated like mushrooms, kept in the dark and fed ####.

It that the contract that no one has actually seen in print? Wasn't there a lengthy thread on that very topic?
Once again you talk about things that you have no idea about.

The company was responsible for the printing, it took a few months to hammer out the language and all the US/East Mechanic and Related have been give a full copy of the contract over a month ago.

once again you blame the company... what AIRWOMAN is trying to get across is where can WE see this copy at????
How about if I fly out next week and see your copy, or were you there last month to get it

I have a copy.

Talk to US Airways, they are the ones who handed the copies out to the employees.

Actually I do know that you were waiting on US printing it and there was a lengthly delay. I don't follow things as closely as you do and last time I read anything the contract had not been printed.

I'm glad it has been distributed for all to see. I think you and I would agrre that one of the problems is half the membership never reads the damn thing. I mean why have a union if you're not even going to take the time to read the contract?? I know I hammer you unmercifully and it's because I think your union is a POS for the average worker. But in fairness the average worker has to take some ownership and read the freaking contract.
I can honestly say that I would take the time to read the contract IF a valid copy was ever supplied. That's what we are asking for.......a valid copy, factual information so that a decision can be made. The IBT has had no issues with information sharing and availability. I would hope and expect that the IAM do the same. I cannot understand why the secrets about this. Present the facts so that the non-facts don't get in our way. The usual saying is don't let the facts get in your way. But the facts aren't present without documentation.

I for one would love to see what the IAM or the IBT has written down (as it relates to fleet service), but will I ever get the facts in a plain honest truth. DOUBTFUL! I have been unemployed since the company outsource my station (CLE), but I am going to start a new job in January.. All I want is the chance to vote on the facts!!...Will I return? Unknown at this moment in time.

Carl, there are other threads with Fleet Service info. You might try there and someone may be able to help you out. Good luck.
