Remember kidz, this is not jr. highschool. Friendships need to be put aside and the individuals chosen on ability to perform the job. The best "known" is not always the best choice, and in this election, could be a severe liability to 70

Why don't we find out what the people running stand for instead of what their name reminds us of? I am sure everyones information will be out in the next few days. Let's make an informed decision.

I don't think I want to vote for some one who is brand new to this company (meaning, wasn't he furloughed - he doesn't know what we lost), need someone who is professional, smart, AND has been around to know what we lost. I was around when this job was good....I mean frickin good. Josh F doesn't even know what we lost, he hasn't been around long enough. Josh F to new to the company, don't think that's the way to go.......
I agree with the grace jones comment, it's fricken grace jones already - maybe she can bring david bowie in for a guest spot.

Can you believe there are flight attendants on the line based in PHL who don't even know who Laura Albert is nor do they know why or when an election will be held. I have NEVER seen anything like it. We have some really smart people mixed in with a bunch of folks who really have no idea of their surroundings. Oh many out there that DO know about the vote will vote for their friend. Thats pretty much a given. May the best candidate win. :up:

That was the problem in Clt's last election. 3 RSV's ran for LECVP and split that vote which left the same person in office. Since then, nothing has changed, except our LEP went on to the MECP, which moved up the LECVP tp LECP. Hardly anyone came to the meetings and friends just voted for friends. It was a sad situation.

We have some really smart people mixed in with a bunch of folks who really have no idea of their surroundings.
These are the same ones who tell RSV's how great they have it.

I'm sorry, but that is just an ignorant rationale. Don't know what we lost?? I am pretty sure he was here when we had good pay, better work rules, better benefits, etc.. and most of all, he was here under a very livable reserve system. At least, of most of the people running, he knows what it feels like to sit around at the company's beck and call (house arrest) for 20 days a month and fly maybe 2 trips. Keep in mind, everyone on this property, whether they were furloughed or not, was here when it was good. If my memory serves me correctly the first concessionary agreement did not happen until after Sept. 11, 2001. There is no one on line that was not hired prior to that. Everyone better keep in mind, the reserve pool is getting bigger and bigger every month and the current leadership at the union DOES NOT CARE. They are protecting the 20 plus. If you are under 20 years, you better think hard about who you elect and elect someone who understands this #$%##$ up reserve system and how terrible it is. If you don't agree with me just think about what happened when the FAA forced the company to change the 24/7 rest requirement for reserves. As everyone knows, this change abolished any hope of reserves picking up ETB and getting off food stamps. What did the union do about it? They went to the company and negotiated a lower floor obligation for the blockholders. Maybe i'm just crazy, but lowering the blockholder obligation IN NO WAY helped reserves pick up ETB trips. Think about it!

What does being furloughed have to do with work ability? Did you know that JF was heavily involved with a labor union prior to his employement at US? In fact, he recently wrote an article in a labor publication that I thought was very informative. Ask him, he will share his experience with you, and then you can decide. I believe he has even been involved in direct labor negotiations in his previous profession.

Just because someone has been here at US for years does not mean they are more "experienced" with regards to union work. He!l, most of our FA's don't even know that LA was recalled, nor do they care. :rolleyes: :lol:

Also, Grace is a fair, level headed person as well and very articulate when she speaks. At the recent meetings to get rid of LA, I was quite impressed with her questioning of LA and her lack of ethics. Grace questioned her hard, but with class. (Of course, LA just yelled back like a rabid dog :blink: )

We don't have anyone who is "brand new to the company". Everyone here has been around for seven years. Furloughed means they were here before- duh- when things were "better". They were never "frickin good" from this end of the spectrum. How very middle America to be so uniformed about anyone but yourself!

These are the type of people who say "oh i paid my due when i was on reserve {for two months in greensboro twenty five years ago or some such thing} and then act like they know what it is to make $1000 a month, all while they complain about thier own losses.

How are these F/As so up thier own asses that they don't know we have thousands furloughed? Some dingbat the other day asked me when I graduated because my number was so low- she seemed to surprised to learn that we hadn't hired in over half a decade.

A mutiny is coming, particularly in Philly- out with the old guard. People with under twenty years deserve a life as well.... this past year with the reserve changes were the last straw

Get this...some senior mamas wanted to know "where the company puts you up now when you are on reserve?". As if the company pays for reserves to sit in a hotel while they are on call. Ignorance!!!
 
It's late and not many are on here to defend but sure enough you'll have them on here defending the blockholder in the morning. The truth is there are MANY that are like the ones just talked about. What you say is true, but I will wager a guess that out of ALL the FA's in PHL, ~300 will vote. If that. Hope I'm wrong......
