LCC Proposes $8B merger with Delta

Won't happen.

This is meant to screw with DL on the way out of BK, and little else.
Now here is an educated unemotional guess that is funny and sad. People are so cynical, but then again this is an airline sorority.

The position of Delta management and the BOD is moot. As long as Delta is in bankruptcy, the creditors are in control and will decide Delta's fate.

Of course ALL of this is my opinion based on no fact and pure conjecture. But true or not, you heard it first here!
NO, you are absolutely correct with NO conjecture necessary and why all the nay sayers on here are only howling at the moon. This is BK where pensions and wages and jobs are fair game and easy pickings for the elitists in the name of whatever they think and looks the best to further their own selfish agendas. It’s the law of the land, good or bad, it‘s what we all abide by.

WHO????

Just kidding :D

This is really going to screw the thousands of U employees still on the street. By far they will be the biggest losers in this Delta acquisition because if it goes through, then I think it's safe to say that mainline growth will be pared yet again. There is so much overlap between DAL and U East and much of it would be "synergized" - in other words eliminated. Notice how Doug says nothing about the East coast and only talks about the Atlantic and Carribbean. What he really wants is what DAL got from Pan Am fifteen years ago.

This isn't good for anybody, especially those on furlough.

Where is the value created by such a deal?

Just a shell game.

Parker has revealed himself as a manipulator rather than an airline ops guy.

Bingo. He's good at one thing: playing the Wall Street banking game. There's nobody out there that can shake bankers and investors down better than he. His power points must be mesmerizing. After his romp through the airline business, I'm sure he'll have a bright future as a televangelist.

i am floored. i just hoep that we intergrate the f/a date of hire .it's the only fair way. even if they are not unionized. stapeling people to the bottom is just not right .

Thank you ETOPS1. Hopefully they will not staple the f/a's like AA did to the TWA f/a's. Oh, I forgot APFA is a country club not a REAL Union.

One thing I haven't seen speculated on yet is the fate of the Shuttle.Mayhaps AMR finally gets their hands on a Shuttle?

I'm sure Arpey will find a few hundred million dollars lying around somewhere.

It was mentioned in an article I read this morning that Delta's portion of the shuttle route would have to be sold off to a competitor in order for the deal to be approved.

The one (and only) thing I find amusing about this is how HP employees will now view their seniority. After going on and on about how it relates to US East, far more Delta employees have been around for a FAR longer time than any of us in CLT, PHL, PIT, BOS, DCA or LGA. In short, Doug doesn't give a rat's arse about any of us. We are Joseph and he will sell us into slavery so fast we won't know what hit us.

If they could get the backing, Jet Blue would make a good shuttle company.
Where the F is United when U need them?....UA would be a better fit for either of these carriers....this has got to be the worst case scenario for all employees on both sides, as well as CLT & PIT.
