Laura Glading resigning as National President of the APFA

Laura got a 13% pay raise, more VC time, double time for whole trip if you volunteer to work past duty day, the hard 40 taken out of contract, I know she's a monster. It was the know nothing's that caused the hard 40 to be put back into contract and it was the know nothing's that nearly cost you $81m
IORFA, back in the 90s there were a lot of long layovers until the FAs who started having families wanted more turns so they can get home and be with families. That saved the company a lot of money so then it became a staple in every contract.
Problem is the USAir way of doing things is not healthy or safe. I get wanting to be home, but these new faux 3 days are not right. The problem now is that instead of a few, there are a bunch. It's getting really go hard to avoid them. That is a problem. All these stupid work rules USAir had aren't good, they've done nothing but make our schedules worse. Thank god they had to keep their precious crappy work rules. Now we get to spend years and multiple contracts to take out the crap parts, which is pretty much most of the USAir crap. Starting with the yet to be implemented hard 40. Why anyone would agree to that is mind boggling. Now with PBS, apparently their crappy work rules are starting to show their ugly face at Ol' USAir and they aren't happy either. Well, DUH!!!!!!

I agree that Laura isn't/wasn't the problem. It's the clueless know nothing followers that think if it's on the Internet, "it has to be true!" I got news for ya, don't hold your breath. The vocal minority is causing problems that people will soon realize aren't good for us all. Think dwindling tea party. Oh well. There was already going to be change at APFA next year. Apparently some people are too impatient and would rather cause a faux uproar to make themselves feel good. Again, think tea party.

Serving seven years as the head of the union, she earned her A5R card. And I do hope she decides to retire.

AA's unions make a habit of trashing their leadership on a recurring basis, so why go back to working the line if you have the ability to walk away?

I agree Eric. If someone is so jealous of the A5, then do the union work and get the t yourself. Problem solved. It is such a trivial thing to go berserk over. It's never been a secret thing, it's just that the people that get all crazy over it don't pay attention!

Too funny. It is beyond ludicrous at times. Problem as I see it, they're too lazy to think for themselves so they go the easy route and follow the discontent online and "Like" it from there. With how much they're on Facebook at work, I'm not sure they're capable of getting through the day without it. Sort of like another source of life. Like my grandparents said to my generation, I'm scared for our future!

I'm not here pushing an agenda that doesn't involve me!
There you go again, you push an anti-union agenda, since your a NON-AA employee.

Receiving lifetime First Class benefits from the company

Is a BRIBE!

AFA would never stand for this.

If you guys are so indoctrinated to not see this then there is something
wrong with you.

Aren't you the people who make furloughed f/a's pay dues?

Incredible cult worship.

Things are going to change.

Remember she couldn't rally her own troops - meaning you.

We voted for it- you didn't!

Get your own house in order before you blame others.

Less cult more transparent.

It's a bribe? Tell that to everyone else who has retired as a union head at the real AA. It's been a company policy for decades and includes all the unions.

Ironically, whoever the head of CWA-AFA for the agents now gets the same "bribe". Unless they've publicly declined it, you're full of crap.

Or full of an agenda...or just bitter that they got bumped one time off of a flight?

Like I said earlier, you will next see that one bitching about the next union leadership.

Will they complain when someone bumps them off of a flight heading to a mediation session or an arbitration hearing?
