JCBA Negotiations and updates for AA Fleet

Not sure how many Stations were lost because of the Bankruptcy Negotiations but I don’t recall anywhere near 30 closing.

Oh and Josh have you ever in your employment had a Bankruptcy gun held to your head? It's not fun let me tell you. All the chambers are loaded and if you make one false move the Company will absolutely fire and splatter your brains on the back wall.

One more time. Have you ever had any personal experience with Bankruptcy Laws that caused you any personal harm?

I was including places like BDL or PDX that had long been handled by American Eagle, even though majority of operations at those stations were AA.

And no I haven’t nor have I ever been covered under a CBA or enjoyed things like tenure. I’m judged on my merit and can be shown the door at any time with no recourse.

Josh

Before you go there. TWU dues 2 times hourly rate.

Envoy $15 TOS = $30 dues per month.
AA $30 TOS = $60 dues per month.

Although the Union must legally and morally should support all equally, who financially would you prefer to grow? And AE Envoy Ramp I believe is shrinking.
That's why the AMTs should have their own union, look at all their work we are doing. Do you think a union would give up work so easily if it were going to another union, A conflict of interest

Having a CBA is irrelevant to the questions I asked you. Let’s try this again.

Please go back and read the questions once again carefully.

Under most situations their own personal greed had them give up the work. Just as much as it did Fleet as well. Specifically the 1983 and 1995 contracts.

But management still made the subjective, arbitrary decision to say “yes” to this supposed individual against hundreds of others that would gladly sweat and throw bags at Wilcox Field for $9/hr or whatever bottom of the scale was when he was hired. (Before the act of benevolence of mid contract increases)

Josh

Keep trying to sell it bro. You can’t force people to feel that they appreciate something and many times if you do try to force them, you’ll just piss them off even more.

Tim,
It seems the IAM is increasingly delegating more duties and responsibilities to the Grand Lodge instead of the requisite district lodge. Why is Sito the IAM’s Representative on the UCH board and not Klemm? Sito has never worked for UA or under the UA agreement, in the past Canale, Delaney, etc were the IAM’s representative. Back when the IAM had a special class of TWA stock wasn’t Bill O’Driscoll of DL 142 (Kansas City) their Director? Just seems bizarre all of a sudden they’re going away from the district structure. As I’ve said before I’ve never understood why the IAM has a three tiered structure and not simply an international and local affiliates like most other unions.

Josh
The GL under sito has taken over all lead bargaining since delaney. Our lead bargainer at UA was an anti unionist mike manzo who contracted out most of his own BA for iam swissport workers.

Klemm usually sits at home getting fatter. Nobody from 141 gets anything other than second hand. This union will be gone if there isnt a new iam.
McGee Air Services has their HR vp appointed by sito on the iam health and welfare plan.

So a very serious question here. Can both of you please explain why there are no IAM folks going to and/or supporting the info picketing? The mechanics thread says no IAM folks showed up at the NY picketing, why is that?? Why wouldn't the IAM support the other half of this asso. combined two unions??? No only does it show unprofessionalism but it also shows major division between the two groups within the same asso. so Why can't the IAM get on the same page at the TWU in their fight towards a JCBA???? I just don't get it.
In simplest terms, because the iam doesnt want to be seen with the twu since the iam plan's on signing away health care but cant do so now since i forced an election. The deal is done, they just cant bring it back until the election is over.

I have stood with those in the association who are fighting corporate greed and have picketed even though its not politically prudent to do so. Its the right thing to do but i take a political beating when i demand that today is the day to negotiate. The iam has some of its members scared of negotiations thinking that the twu wants to eliminate our health care. Its a mind job how they made the twu the bad guy and not management. Gosh forbid baskett ever be seen at a picket. I work with 1300 twu peeps in ord and they hope to get our health care. Nonetheless our union bosses lie.

So you’re essentially saying that YOU and YOU alone are the reason we don’t have a JCTA? That even though in your last election run you only received 3 votes (Something like that) Sito, Baskett, Rezler, Martinez, ? and maybe even long dead Union bosses are scared something silly that you’re going to bum rush tackle them all out?

I’m telling ya, you’re one mighty little dude bro. We should nickname you “Powerman”

Yes. Not sure about everything else you said cuz everytime i ran for office or put a team together we always had more nominations than we needed to force an exciting election that makes our union accountable. Imo the present stall is due to sitos election. Prolly nothing to do with the district election.

I stumbled across something I found interesting, if not confusing. Granted it is one analyst opinion that airliners' "Fat Years" maybe behind them as they face increase costs in labor, new aircraft, technology, and airport renovations. AA Chief Financial Officer, Derek Kerr, without much detail in the article countered there will be $1 billion over 5 years in revenue enactments and expense reductions through "Project One Airline".

However, in a recent SEC filing which appears to be an investor "dog and pony" slide show, "Project One Airline" made passing reference to "redundancies in FTEs" (slide 13) as a target for expense cuts. Next slide mentions "Customer Experience" with a plan for "New airport ramp technologies" and "Implement new airport overtime assignment system". (Not sure how the customer will directly appreciate new ramp technologies and an overtime assignment system.)

I guess my point is that if Management is looking for $1 billion in savings and increased revenues, it would be naive to think ramp agents won't be part of the mix. Furthermore, I think they are trying to disguise it, but need to demonstrate to Wall Street there is a plan to prop-up stock price.

Tim have you ever stopped to consider this possibility. You sir could perhaps be a megalomaniac?

  • an outburst of wildly extravagant commercial megalomania
  • The Times Literary Supplement (London)
2:a delusional mental illness that is marked by feelings of personal omnipotence and grandeur

megalomaniac
play \-ˈmā-nē-ˌak\ adjective or noun

megalomaniacal

Its not for me to say. But the object isnt me but democracy. Incumbents are concerned about democracy, not me. I trigger democracy and i have to wipe out all the stupid illegal bylaws and illegal actions that these dummies do. Our union bosses are just really really stupid.
Member rights and democracy are key. There isnt one current iam district officer that stands up for democracy. Not one.
Thats where i come in. And its truly exciting as we all benefit with elections.

Looks to me from that piece on OT that the Company may be looking to try to be more efficient in that area?

If they brought back “Penalty Hours” or “Shift Continuance” that could be a good area for cutting down on any over abundance of unnecessary OT?
