Maybe Roa will come back after all he/she would also vigorously defend the IAM and catering from any criticism.

I don't think there would have been an election based on the relative headcounts. Had the process moved in a reasonable clip absent sufficient showing of interest (A-cards) the IAM should have been decertified and TWU assumed representation.

The IAM has more points but the average headcount and size of the stations they have staffed is small compared to the TWU with three large hubs, two smaller hubs and a dozen large out station. CLT and PHX are the only large LUS hubs, plus at PHL and DCA most of the flying is Express work which is done by low wage low cost piedmont type outfits.

M&R TWU is significantly larger thanks to superior scope and more large stations.

Josh
PHL CLT are larger hubs than PHX. DCA has a statue mile limit w few exceptions.

I guess that "dead horse" can be buried now huh W, at least partially!

For me, I asked for a letter of support. I didn't ask what I expected to see in that letter so at least as far as "I'm" concerned, the horse is buried.

Will Sito join the picket?

Josh
Remember, the IAM still has refused to give a letter of support for the TWU picketing. The IAM strictly limited their support to negotiations of "The Association". The Association did not authorize the picket. All letters of support are addressed to the TWU since it is their picket. Klemm only offered a letter of support supporting Sito. That's all. Egos I guess. But Weez is fine with settling for Klemm supporting Sito. Better than nothing. The reason why Sito will not show support is because of any potential fallout after a JCBA. He doesn't want any support letter to be used against him in any raid.

Thank you Tim. BTW just read your "Hot News Part 2" update. Should I share it here or will you be posting it yourself?
you can post it. Disappointed in the part time givebacks but I guess dues dollars trumps current language in the LAA agreement. Hopefully, the executive Association didn't totally throw in the towel like they did at United. Our DL 141 eboard voted unanimously to approve unlimited part time at United. In ORD, it has meant limited OT possibilities and very few Full time openings but boatloads of part time and back to back. The IAM approved the current bid at UA ORD and it has part timers starting at 0700-1100 and 1030-1500. Not saying that is how it will go at American but I do know there was a part time concession from the executive level of Association. Doesn't mean that the negotiation team knows this or not. They may not be made aware until their voting day to recommend the contract.

Waiting on mechanics and God only knows how long that will take. Otherwise, fleet is a wrap. Until then, the Union can continue its narrative about it not surrendering LUS health care due to "Garbage" proposals stripping us of LUS health care! And the company can continue its narrative about refusing to agree to the IAMNPF. And I guess the TWU can continue its narrative that it will not concede anything. Or at least Fa's narrative.

NYer was right about all of this and his words are coming back to haunt us. At any rate, another month and Delta announces its new pay rates for 2018. Yay!
