WeAA. Ive alerted our only shop steward on multiple occasions whereas shift mgr was in airbus bins when adequate staf were on same flight. Mgmt hated me big time bec i wld alert our rep day n night n he wld talk n or grieve it
 
Do you guys have difficulty pulling up and complying with a load plan? What is it F@@kin rocket science?

When the dopes in central loads that aren't familiar with the 772/773 insist on creating load configs that won't lock in, one has to wonder if it is in fact quantum theory...

Used to be you'd be able to pull an international trip sheet at 75 min to departure,now it's down to an hour or less.You can get away with that on the 76 or a light 772.On the 773 to LHR or GRU that's a delay that hasn't happened yet.
 
You need to sharpen that wooden stake or polish that silver bullet cause I've never seen a manager do ONE of those things even when we were non union

C'mon Al, you never seen a Manager touch a bag or an escort? I love catching them on that one.

You tell that manager if he wants a workout he needs to go buy himself a set of weights and a bench.

You'd never see any LAA CSM's in the hole slinging bags.If I had a CSM or MOD up in the hole on one of my trips I'd pull my crew off because management had the flight.I'd give them the ramplink and take my crew back to line control for our next assignment.
 
agreed 100%. remember, it was aa that wanted 'jr. fleet service' in the 1995 contract and within a year, i believe, aa reached out to the union and got rid of it.

ord and jfk are not phx, where some of these new aa big-shooters come from...with nice weather and no banks. oso, things get out of control very quickly. the want the planes locked up x-amount of minutes before the schd. departure...the c/c is scanning outside and still needs to finalize the loads in computer. if some freight or mail comes late..all the late gate bags that keep coming down the dumbwaiter/slide.....oops, time to call dallas...and you get a visit from mngt.

the c/c premium pay could never be high enough. i feel that a $39.00 top out rate (differential not included) for c/c-lead is fair.

We've got a MOD from LUS at JFK...he's slowly getting the idea that he isn't in PHX anymore.

Anything not on the gate gets NR and we move on.There is no "Last minute freight" at JFK.If it's on the gate and I have the space and time, it will go.Gate bags are a way of life, let the mobile CSM know you're still getting gate bags with X minutes to go.Cover your own ass.

Now that I think of it up the Jetway after Jetway was pulled one attempted to bring bags down. doubt he would do it again. I do find it difficult to be a union p(l)ick with a manager I grew old with and has always been fair. Just a different culture from AA to US

Did you get one of the "Mikes" from PHX? Good luck with any of them! And yes, great idea to get it on record for last minute gate bags, especially after buttoned-up the bin doors!

PHX is unique to the other LUS stations, it is old AW

Hey Al there are managers I'm cool with too. I'm a B Buster yea but I don't really want to be a p(l)ick unless someone gives me a good reason.

Here in MIA some Union reps give CSM's insulting nicknames to belittle them. Honestly always thought it reflected worse on the name callers more than the name catchers.

It's juvenile BS IMO.

Our station is smaller n most mgmt are LAA. Station mgr n 2 shift mgrs are LUS. Unfortunately we only have 1 rep for entire ramp n when he off at 1230 its like being on ur own esp w some peeps they got on afternoon evening crew. N the GM as she loves to be called is not too keen on hiring more help. Meanwhile ot is available but 8 hrs are sliced n no one is taking much ot. Yesterday. Military movement. 2 flights at least. 1 being mia. Other phx. 30 plus min delays. Why corp fails to see this is beyond me

They worship the MBR numbers, anything else is irrelevant.

And not in a good way... I recall people saying, "There's the US way, the America West way and the PHX way." I cannot believed I stayed there for FAR too long, but after communicating with dozens of former PHX brothers who moved away I realized the morons who ran that operation were truly "unique". Glad to have left that 5hi+h01e and to never look back!
