Hey not to mean intruding into your thread, we just had negotiations update #59, at SWA no deal surprise, surprise, anyway this guy that goes by Hackman attacks us all the time if we don't think our Union AMFA is doing a descent job, he claims he is all involved in American union meetings, is he a business agent or just full of crap? Supposedly an AMT ?
Oh shucks, not the SWA sniveler B737 going on a fishing trip? I just criticized you and your greedy sniveling about you and your money, or the lack of a concessionary T/A you can vote yes on, or the fact you are a possible company plant. Business agent? Isn't that a Reamster term for shop steward?

I'm not involved in ramper union meetings, so these guys don't know.

Identities are a private matter here B737, read the rules.

New 11/2010 - Posts by members that are knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law will be removed or edited. Resume your sniveling....

And you don't think you are deflamatory, telling my board I am a company plant, because I have a difference of opinion, like I said if you really care about American, then do something for American, I have never been part of the IAM or TWU your the one that claims you so involved in the union here, I wish you guys luck, and stay out of our business !

The IAM is going to join the pilots, flight attendants etc...and put in writing that they support the TWU in it's quest to achieve an industry leading contract. They will ask Parker to live up to his promise.
There, now we all can sleep peacefully.
That isnt what they are referring to although lets hope that Sito learns from his errors and does more than just faxing a letter.

this thread certainly draws a diverse crowd from different airlines and work groups 🙄

More "breaking news" on the multi-employer pension funds, of which the IAMPF is a one of those.

http://www.cbsnews.com/news/slashed-pensions-another-blow-for-heartland-workers/

Here are some highlights , or lowlights of the article, depending on your perspective.

"The Central States Pension Fund was the first to actually be approved for this triage under a 2014 law known as the Multiemployer Pension Fund Reform Act. Many pension advocates call it unfair.

"It was run through Congress in the dead of night, and President Obama -- who was supposed to be for the working class -- signed it," complained Burruel. The fund is overseen by attorney Kenneth Feinberg, known for dividing up huge settlements in cases such as the 9/11 terrorist attack and the BP (BP) oil spill in the Gulf.

However, it's not clear what would be fair. The hammer is falling on the private pension funds that are running out of cash. And those shortfalls have many reasons. "The stock market crash had a huge effect," said Outreach Director Joellen Leavelle of the Pension Rights Center. "Some plans lost billions." It was a loss from which they never recovered.

When people such as Burruel retired, fewer workers in fewer jobs were available to contribute to the pension plan. That created a lopsided and unsustainable equation. Low interest rates made matters worse. The area economy was yet another factor.

Some would argue that these union workers should have contributed to IRAs because these investments can't be touched. But that wasn't the way these union workers thought. "When my husband got raises, everything went into the pension," said Overstreet. And you looked out for your fellow worker, including the younger guy who was going to take your place and help you in your retirement.

"They encouraged me to retire early," said Burruel. "Now I'd like to get at least a part-time job, but my knee and hip replacements make that impossible."

Seems as though I've seen these very sentiments posted here before when others were saying, "but the stock market is too risky".
Pensions are also invested in the market, except you have no say over what they invest in or how much.
A 401K gives you total control, 100% control.

What has happened to the fund in this article is the future of the IAMPF.

This concludes today's lesson.

Don't put me in that boat, never spoke on the health of the Plan. My contribution is that I believe it will be choice to join the IAMNPP by LAA TWU Members and not a forced transition.

The IAMPF conversation has become very boring now.

Next?
I think it is the main topic or should be. Its boring to you cuz it doesnt involve you at this time. The iam medical is self insured and is another topic.
Otherwise we can go back to you ripping NYer without any reason to do so.

Im not trying to be crude but it would be kind of you if you actually allowed NYer to make a comment without you jumping in telling him how bad he is. Cripes!

Where is the big news of the day, and no, not OJ on the loose again

And Tim it would be nice if you stopped trying to cause trouble everywhere and being mentally ill. But maybe some things are beyond our control huh?

Don't ask me man? You saw they announced BIG news, then put out something about Lobsters on a plate, and now I guess this is their BIG news?

Hi Tim,
Did you see the new cost conscious leadership team at BA is wanting to effectively farm out all U.S. ground handling? Didn't their scope get whacked in the last round of negotiations when smaller single departure stations like ATL, DEN, and SAN got killed?

http://www.iamdl142.org/wp-content/uploads/2017/07/BA-Negotiations-Bulletin-7-13-17.pdf

I wonder if BA were to want AA to assume some of this handling would the association object to taking on that work? Maybe this will wind up like an Alaska Air and McGee situation. At any rate, it's unfortunate to see BA management go this route and hopefully they will hold the line on scope.

Josh
