Ignored.
Irrelevant.
Ignored.
It is just a lack of understanding as to each side's needs and history.
Without the necessary perspective of what everyone faces the only thing we have a reference to is time. Without an understanding of the challenges faced as a union group and at the table it makes sense why so many are frustrated.
On the other hand, once the JCBA comes out or if we are given actual accounts of what is happening the whole notion of "let's get this done" may go away. It seems the reference everyone is using to make their determination of whether this is taking too long seems to be the optimistic view that a JCBA can only be good and why is it taking so long.
However, that would quickly change and the TWU Members will be standing right next to the IAM Members in their support of a more deliberate process. The worst thing that could happen is if the Company gets to a point where they just throw their comprehensive proposal on the table and ask it to be voted on, something the NMB representative will also be in agreement with. At that point, our fate may be held by those that just look at the dollar signs and not the intricate detail of the language that can affect us negatively.

But nothing will be gained without solidarity and unity between the three labor organizations.IAM Medical costs.
In the last President Peterson video he mentions that the IAM members pay 7% of AA's Medical expenditure cost while the TWU member pays a cost of 21%.
The reality again over and over to be pointed out. AA and the former LUS are "Self Insured"
They are NOT going to an outside market for anything more than the administration of the plans they provide for us.
Yes AA can provide TWU/IAM Association members with a cost at least somewhere between 7% and 21%
But nothing will be gained without solidarity and unity between the three labor organizations.
I agree
Weez maybe you and NYer can get together in solidarity and start a new direction come picket time. At the very least you can use the golf visor you boughtYou shouldn't placate or coddle to the naive. They'll never learn if you do.

Interesting that you bring up "Roles".
Lets drill down on that just a bit.
If both of these unions exercised their proper roles at the very beginning of this merger,
I would submit that these things currently happening would have lived a very short shelf life if at all.
The Proper roles of these unions at the outset was the IAM stepping aside, and the TWU taking over representation of the ground workers as the majority union.
I read his comments different from you. He seemed to indicate that it would be up to the negotiating committee, and thats his concern.NYer,
You do understand that the NMB representative has ZERO, nada, none, zilch, no authority in these negotiations. She can agree untill the cows come home, but that doesn't mean that the Association or the NC have to do anything she suggests. In fact, they can ask her to leave the room and go pound sand. So the company can get to a point where they do exactly as you say, but on the table it will remain until the negotiating committee thinks it worth reading and picks it up.
